Accommodation is the best part of a trip to Ottawa. I am also a fan of the hostel. The hostel focuses on literature and art. I have never experienced such a unique accommodation. This hotel is actually a former prison that used to carry out executions converted into the former Carleton County Jail, which dates back to 1862. For 110 years, the prison has had maximum security facilities and can accommodate up to 150 inmates.

The hotel in the city center, the design is more interesting and looks like a small castle from the outside. There are museums and shopping malls around, and after checking in, you will give the door key and room key, all the doors here are very heavy, need to make more effort to open, a total of nine floors, the third floor is check-in, the first floor is office, other floors have rooms for check-in, I put the floor map last, toilets and bathrooms are public, but there are not many people. It is also quite quiet (but the sound insulation is very poor, because of the design of the prison, several foreigners next door get together to chat in the middle of the night directly wake me up).

The eighth floor is the death row, and there is a tour at 11 o 'clock every day, and there are prison introductions on many walls. The second floor is a place to eat and a public rest area. The room type can be single room, double bed and double bunk bed. The room is relatively small, and the name of the former prisoner at the door of each room introduces the information of the prisoner who lived inside.

According to Saintlo, who runs the prison hostel, the haunted Ottawa Jail has a dark past. On the one hand, 140 bodies were found in the prison parking lot. Meanwhile, the prison also has some famous ghosts, one of which is Patrick James Whelan.

This restaurant includes a simple breakfast and is conveniently located to all attractions, including Chinatown, which is a short drive away, and Capitol Hill Art Museum, which is within walking distance.
