Oyster freedom in Nanaimo!

We came to Nanaimo for the long weekend, because we only bought tickets four or five days in advance, there is no time to choose, sisters with travel plans must book early oh. We got off the ferry and went to Gabriola Island first. We need to buy the ferry ticket at the pier separately for $48cad ➕ car for two people. We don't need to buy any tickets for the return trip.

✨ Brickyard Beach

On the beach where oysters are free, check the time of low tide in advance. It is best to arrive at the beach an hour before the lowest tide. With your eyes closed, you can pick up a large bucket of clam.

Because the lowest tide is around 10:30, we went to Brickyard Beach to pick up oysters after the second ferry. I have written about the precautions of picking up oysters in Salt Spring Island before, you can refer to it. This location is said to have fewer people and more oysters, and the parking lot is right by the sea, so it's not a long walk.

✨ Malaspina Galleries

This is a wavy rock, said to be pure natural, really shocking, the sun is good when the photo is very beautiful, no filter, it is very beautiful. The car is parked on the side of the road. Just keep going left. It's so beautiful at sunset!

✨ Malahat SkyWalk

It's a bit far away, more than an hour's drive from Nanaimo, but I haven't been there since it was built, so I just went to the island to see it.

A 250-foot-tall observation tower, visitors can climb a winding staircase to the top of the tower, from where they can enjoy spectacular panoramic views. From the top of the observation tower, visitors can overlook the beautiful forests, lakes and mountains of the Kauychen Valley, while also enjoying the Pacific coastline in the distance.

There are no steps in the whole journey, all the way to the wooden road, you can return to the original way or sit down by the rotating slide, the slide is less than a minute, but it is a rotating slide, so it is still very dizzy. Down the slide there's an observation deck, kids' rides, an ice cream truck, and then you can take the back road.

✨ Duncan Totem

I thought it was an ordinary town, ready to have lunch and withdraw, but I did not expect a small city. Although it is the smallest city in Canada, there are more than 40 beautifully carved totems scattered throughout the city, enjoying the reputation of "Totem City". There is a rich history behind each totem, and the detailed introduction beside the totem gives us a deeper understanding of the Native American culture. When visiting Vancouver Island, you can't miss this treasure town!

✨ Chemainus Mural Town

The fresco town of Chemainus is very small, it will be finished ina minute, it is not far from Nanaimo duke point terminal, about 20-30 minutes, I really like this kind of old and small town, it is very beautiful, the owl's net cafe in the town is really good, and the breakfast is very good. I think it's better than a lot of Internet celebrity stores, lemonade is great, the problem is that it's too slow... It's really slow... It was a Sunday and many lovely shops were closed.

✨ Maffeo Sutton Park

Nanaimo landmark punch time.

🍽️ Nori Japanese Restaurant

The most famous Japanese food on the island is said to be the best in Vancouver, which we think is a bit of an exaggeration, but the taste is OK. We need to locate in advance, because we need to go to the island, we did not locate in advance, and we wanted to take a chance on the walk in. As a result, when we arrived at 1:40pm, we were told that we could no longer take the walk in, so we ordered takeout and ate in the car.

🍽️ The Vault Cafe

The retro style of the store is really love, the exterior wall is pink, the interior wall is dark green, there are a lot of strange retro ornaments in the store, the favorite is placed at the door Caffee News

The menu is hung on the wall, it is a traditional American brunch, all kinds of sandwich and wrap. You can also choose your favorite foods and build your own breakfast. Toasted bread, buttered, and topped with fresh avocados, it's amazing.

My trip is very special forces, we are 6.30am boat departure, the return is 10:45pm boat, so time is still very ample.
