Welcome to Cabbagetown, a historic neighbourhood of Toronto full of charm, character and rich history. Known for its quaint Victorian houses and tree-lined streets, Cabbagetown is a hidden gem in the city centre.
Legend has it that Cabbage Town got its name from Irish immigrants who settled in the area in the late 19th century. Known as "taxi drivers," they grow cabbages in their front yards, creating a patch of green throughout the neighborhood. Today, Cabbage Town retains its unique character and is a symbol of Toronto's multicultural heritage.
As you explore Cabbagetown, you'll find plenty to do and see. Take a leisurely stroll along the tree-lined streets and admire the stunning Victorian houses. Be sure to visit Riverdale Farm, a working farm in the heart of the city for a glimpse of agricultural life. The historic farmers' market, the first organic market here. Try organic red wine, pick up fresh mushrooms, a variety of cheeses and breads, and even Swift's favorite whiskey pie. You can also explore the local shops, restaurants and cafes that showcase the vibrant culture of the community.

Toronto's most historic and charming Market, St. Lawrence Market, has a history of more than 200 years, and the strong cultural atmosphere allows you to feel the pulse of history while shopping. Food paradise, a variety of fresh produce, artisanal breads, cheeses, seafood, deli and more. This is a foodie's paradise where every bite is the ultimate treat. Not only is there good food, but there are also a variety of handicrafts and art for sale here, which is perfect for buying special souvenirs.
The interior area is very large, divided into northern and southern markets. A box once visited, the most memorable is a handicraft shop made of maple leaves, as well as a macaron shop, and a variety of shops for you to explore.

🌾 Woodbridge Village Farmers Market
⌚ When: Saturday, June 15 to October 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m
Opening day of the 2024 season is June 15. The big news is that we have a new temporary home - the Alpalladini Centre on the corner of Islington Avenue and Rutherford Road. Join us in our new home, enjoy local cuisine, delicious cuisine and friendly vendors and have a great New Year.
There is an Italian Day on June 22, join the ladies of St. Margaret Mary Church to prepare pizza, fresh pasta and more. Traditional Italian music will be accompanied by fun!
Canada Day Pancake Breakfast on June 29, Canada Day is a time for celebration and reflection. And what better way to celebrate than with a plate of pancakes and maple syrup! Join us for our annual pancake breakfast. Christ Church Episcopal Church will be serving pancakes all morning.
July 13th has Strawberry Day and Craft Day, and we redouble our efforts today to celebrate all things strawberry, as well as select craft vendors!
There's Cheese Day and a craft market on July 20, and Ontario makes some amazing cheeses. Come to the market and try something new! This will also be the second of our four craft market days!
Honey Day is on August 10th! Come out and celebrate the arrival of the new honey "crop"! Learn about bees and why it's so important to protect all of our pollinators. You might even see a real swarm!
There are nearly 60 farmers, businesses, and food trucks operating there. It's all organically grown and sold by local farmers. Try fruit pies made by locals, personally brewed honey, pickled sausages and more. There are also different events every month, such as the Pumpkin Festival, the upcoming Strawberry Festival and Cheese Day.

Evergreen started its Saturday Farmers Market in 2007 with 25 local farmers and producers, a great location, and a great community response. At the time, many predicted that it wouldn’t last. But, last, it did. Since then, it has grown into the largest farmers market in Toronto.Open year-round, snow or shine, Evergreen’s Saturday Farmers Market is the meeting place for people from across the city—and beyond. My boyfriend took a wrong turn on his way home from Costco and passed Evergreen Brick Works Park, just in time to see this farmers market sign. Parking is plentiful, $2.25 for half an hour.
It's not hard to find an entrance. Just go straight in. 100% white. There are a few stalls that I find interesting. I bought cut flowers of calla lilies /pain au chocolate and ate a lot of apples in the stalls. There are many meat stalls, I plan to try it next time! Grab a hot drink at Picnic Cafe & Catering, shop for patio native plants at the Market, and buy small local gifts at the Sunday Artisan Market. It's a great place to go to class.

⌚ When: Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m
It is the perfect place to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, maple syrup and flowers. In addition, we offer a selection of delicious breads, pastries, cheeses and cured meats. Come every Thursday from 8:00am to 2:00pm to meet local farmers and suppliers who showcase their best fresh produce and produce. Such as rhubarb, strawberries, asparagus in early summer, pumpkins and pumpkins in autumn. Most importantly, security measures have been put in place to ensure a safe shopping experience. We provide all natural foods, uphold the concept of promoting health, and provide customers with high quality food. The Leslieville Farmers Market is a vibrant and thriving community gathering that has been serving the Leslieville community since 2011. It all started in Toronto's Jonathan Ashbridge Park, but in 2021, the market was forced to move to Greenwood Park due to construction. This change of location proved to be a good thing, as the new location allowed the market to flourish. Today, the market has more than 55 vendors each week, offering a variety of fresh produce, tasty snacks, handmade goods and unique finds. In addition to good food, visitors can enjoy live music, children's programming and the market's famous annual night market. The Lesleyville Farmers Market is also proud to partner with the Neighborhood Food Center, which is located not far from the Glenrod campus. This partnership gives the market the opportunity to host events throughout the year and reinforce its commitment to supporting local food and communities.
