Cultural celebrations, musical events, romantic meteors... The surprises keep coming!

Frankfurt Main Festival

The Main Festival is one of Frankfurt's oldest folk festivals, originating from the ordination of the Church of the Three Kings on July 23, 1340, from which fishermen and captains created a fishing festival to pay homage to the river and celebrate it with wine and beef kebabs, a symbol of the fountain of justice, as well as entertainment such as goose plucking, fishing, and jousting.

Today, the festival has become a national event in Frankfurt. The festival is a mix of rides, delicious local food and a rich cultural programme, while the traditional Fischerstechen (water fighting) will be held again, with competitors holding spears on the stern platform and pushing their opponents into the water in a playful way, and you are sure to laugh at the shore. When night falls, the sky is illuminated by colorful fireworks, and the bright light is like a dream dance, drawing a gorgeous end to your day.

The River Main flows quietly, and Frankfurt blooms in its embrace like a poem. The city is a modern fortress of steel and glass, as well as an artistic scroll of history and culture. Walking on the streets of Frankfurt, you can feel the elegance and wisdom that have been deposited in the years.

The riparian area of the museum, like a string of bright pearls, is scattered on the river Main. In the Stadler, time seems to freeze on the master's canvas, and each painting whispers an ancient story. The Museum of Cinema and the Museum of Architecture are like tunnels of time, taking you through history to witness the evolution and glory of cinema and architecture. The annual Museum Riverbank Festival turns this land into a carnival of art, and the enthusiastic light and shadow shine on people's faces, becoming an eternal memory.

At night in Frankfurt, the melody of the opera house echoes in the air. Frankfurt Opera House, the classic operas and concerts, as if from the depths of history, with the traces of time, striking the hearts of the audience. And the Arte Opera House, like an elegant gentleman, tells the story of music, and every note finds a home here. The drama festival in the small theater, the avant-garde and the tradition collide on the stage, and the sparks splash, which makes people linger.

In the corners of the city, independent cafes are oasis of warmth. Every cup of handmade coffee tells the story of the barista's heart and ingenuity. You can sit by the window with a book in your hand, listen to the crowing of the coffee machine, and feel the flow of time. The Frankfurt Book Fair, like a cultural feast, brings together literary lovers from all over the world. Between the pages, the soul travels in the ocean of words.

The weekend creative market is like the heartbeat of the city. At the flea market, a variety of handicrafts, antiques and designer works show the intersection of creativity and history. Here, you can find unique small objects, and you can also communicate with the stall owners and listen to their stories behind each piece. These markets are a microcosm of Frankfurt's culture and a testament to its people's creativity.

On the banks of the Main River, the green parks are like the lungs of the city, breathing the breath of nature. Riding roads, promenades, winding along the river, the scenery along the way is like a picture scroll, waiting for people to explore. In the palm gardens and botanical gardens, a variety of tropical and subtropical plants compete to open up, as if showing the wonders of nature, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

Frankfurt, the city on the banks of the Main, is a place where modernity and history intertwine, where art and life dance together. Every corner, every street, tells its own unique story. Living here is like being in a prose poem, where every day a new chapter is written.

As a traditional festival in Frankfurt since 1936, the Main Festival has been held every year in the summer, and the most famous activities in addition to the riverside amusement facilities and snacks, there are traditional river competitions and fireworks.
