Bimmer comes on pilgrimage!

📍 Am Olympiapark 2, 80809 Munchen, Germany

Come to Munich, be sure to come to BMW headquarters and BMW museum, really is the paradise of car fans, feel the extraordinary German auto industry, and finally see the BMW bowl and BMW headquarters building that I saw in the car magazine when I was a child, it is fantastic.

There are a total of three buildings here, the four round cylindrical building is the BMW headquarters office building, long like a bowl is the BMW museum, across the road is the BMW World, you can visit for free equivalent to a large 4s shop.

The building looks like an engine, and is also known as the "four-cylinder building" because of its four cylinders next to each other. The BMW Museum, located next to the cylinder, is the shape of the cylinder head. The 41-meter diameter circular roof is painted with a huge BMW logo, which is eye-catching from the sky.

More emphasis on the mechanical aspect, spent a lot of exhibition hall to show their engines, not only cars, but also aircraft, ships, motorcycle engines, brand history is not introduced much (mainly in the beginning is not to do cars), there are a lot of motorcycle display.

However, the overall integrity of the museum is not very strong, and it does not feel very logical. Although several themes are listed in the app, they are broken down and placed in different positions, and there is not much display of real cars. The iconic bowl-shaped building in the back part is full of BMW's own ideas and values.

Tickets are €7 for students and €10 for adults. Group tickets are available for more than 5 people. No reservation required, buy on site. There are two white self-service machines on the left side of the door, and you can buy directly from them, which supports credit card and Apple Pay.

Buy directly import to the staff to see, do not go to the front desk queue, those are not bought tickets and buy group tickets. Now there are no paper tickets, the machine prints out something like a recipe and it's your ticket. Plus, I don't check any I.D. on the day I get here.

At the entrance there is a semi-open room with a dynamic model composed of 714 metal balls, which interprets the structure and concept of BMW cars.

Continue to walk inside will see different periods of BMW cars, motorcycles and racing cars, you can follow the serial number on each door, you can visit all. Science and engineering may be more interested, there are many original car models.

The museum has many interactive films and experiential cars with BMW themes, suitable for car fans to visit.

If you need to store a backpack, do not enter the museum, enter the door directly into the inside, there is a staircase to go down, down will see a pile of white cabinets can be put, there are keys. There are also 🆓 toilets and souvenir shops on this floor. You can go back the way you came.

The fastest time to visit the museum is 1 hour, usually 1.5 to 2 hours.

PS:
Along the way from the subway station, you can also visit the BMW sales store and BMW headquarters. But I didn't visit because I had to catch a train in the afternoon. If you have time, you can go to 🆓.
