The mysterious underground canals of Paris!

This time, I took a boat tour on the Canal Saint-Martin, an underground canal in Paris. I hear most Parisians don't even know it exists! But I remember it appearing in the James Bond movie series. Originally just with curiosity to find out, but the actual scene has shocked me.

Paris This Canal, many tourists are very interested in, it starts from the Seine River from south to north through Paris to Belgium, its name is "Canal Saint Martin". The Canal Saint-Martin is a 4.5-kilometre canal in Paris, France, connecting the Canal de l'Ourcq with the Seine River, with the section of the canal underground between the Bastille and Republican Gare stations.

Visitors can take a boat, which features a large section of the city of Paris through the underground, is a very large transportation system, more than a thousand years old, the word Paris comes from the old Latin "Parisii". From the marina of Bastille Port Arsenal, pass through the underground channel, cross the stepped saint Martin River, all the way to la Villette Paris, an arcadia to the northeast of Paris.

This is definitely the least popular tour route in Paris, as Paris underground blogger! This time I came to the underground canals of Paris, and the experience was amazing! It's like traveling through the stars!

The boat left Bastille Station that day, first through a section of the underground channel, and then began to rise level by level, because it was constantly passing through the gate, and each time the gate was flooded with water, in order to raise the boat to the same level. Behind it, there are several Bridges that rotate because they have to make way for boats.

The canal is designed to be closed like a highway cave, but at intervals a circular zenith cave allows natural light to enter and fills the interior with layers of light and shadow.

When I visited it was in the afternoon, and the strong sunlight in the afternoon entered the sky hole at the top of the canal to form the Tyndall effect (beam) and fell on the green river, the fairy air was floating + the mystery was full! You can see almost all the famous sights of Paris.

I booked this tour with the cruise company Canauxrama in Paris. This cruise company has a special tour of the underground Canal Saint-Martin (23 euros/person, 2.5 hours), as well as a combination of the underground Canal Saint-Martin+ Seine cruise package (25 euros/person, 2 hours).

I chose the latter, and in addition to seeing the underground river, I also visited the small Statue of Liberty on the banks of the Seine on the same cruise ship. Chinese and English, and free cookies and drinks! The narrator also said that four countries were on his boat at the Olympics. A very worthwhile cruise, friends to Paris do not miss!! It's just windy. Make sure you add a coat.
