Grasse Rose Festival. Roses are just roses

The Guerra Rose Festival 🌹 a feast for smell and sight

May is the French moon of roses 🌺, and Grasse, the perfume capital of the world, is especially busy at this time of year: the Grasse Rose Festival is held here, and the streets are scented with jasmine and lavender.

The festival has been going on for half a century, and one weekend in May Grasse has a rose exhibition, which pays tribute to the king of flowers, the rose, and its producers. Street corners 🏘, fountains ⛲, statues 🗿 and all public places are decorated with various bouquets of roses 💐. Artisan shops along the streets are also using their creativity to decorate their shops with flowers.

The Grasse Rose Festival began in 1963 and is held annually on the second Sunday of May for two days. The festival started out as a celebration of the rose harvest and a tribute to the history of Grasse perfume.

The highlight of the Rose Festival is the Rose Parade. Gorgeously decorated flower floats made their way down Grasse's streets, carrying models and dancers in full dress as they waved to spectators on either side. The parade not only showcases Grasse's rose industry, but also reflects the town's energy and enthusiasm.

Grasse's Rose Garden is open to the public during the festival season, and visitors can stroll through the garden and admire the various varieties of roses. There are not only the traditional red roses, but also the rare yellow, purple and black roses.

Walking in the street, you will find that the air is filled with fragrance. It's not just the tens of thousands of roses in the town that bring the fragrance, but also the perfume atomizers that line the streets of the old town 🔮.

Above the street, thousands of dangling pink umbrellas ☂️ form a pretty roof and cast octagonal patterns on the ground like shadows.

A rose-colored red carpet was rolled out on the steps to Cour Honore Cresp Square; Many local handicraft merchants set up their stalls in the square, which has become a sea of flowers, forming a lively small market.

This year's Rose Festival is taking place this week, 📆, at the Hanamiya Perfume Museum every day from 9 to 12 May 10h to 20h (admission €5). In addition, the whole town of Grasse was transformed into an open-air dance floor 💃, where the gestures of flowers and the rhythms of the body were combined to create a colorful fantasy world.

Have been to Grasse, have been to Grasse in May, can be considered a short visit to la vie en rose, 🌹 if you are lucky enough to come to Grasse in May, May wish to join the rose celebration, feel the romance and enthusiasm from France.
