It's art! The Art Museum of Chicago!

Address: 111 S Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL 60603 USA

The Art Museum of Chicago is the second largest art museum in the United States after the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is one of the oldest and largest art museums in the United States and one of the most important art colleges in the world.

Although it is not as famous as the Louvre and the Metropolitan Museum, it has many famous paintings! It has a collection of masterpieces by Dali, Duchamp, Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh and other masters, and is considered to be one of the museums with the largest collection of Impressionist works outside France.

Opening hours: Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday; Thursday 11am-8pm; Friday to Monday 11am-5pm

The museum has many world-class art collections, including works of many periods and styles, famous collections include Grant Wood's "American Gothic", Edward Hope's "Night Wanderer", Mary Cassatt's "Bath" and many more.

Once inside, grab a map and download the official app. Having a plan is highly recommended here. I went to the second floor thinking of going to the Impressionists first and then to see the Nighthawks, but it turned out that the Nighthawks were on the second floor in the other direction, and I got in through the American Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. The whole experience is that I didn't look at the map planning much in advance, and I took a lot of backward steps (I don't know if it's a planning problem? Or is it me?)

This time, mainly visit the 2 floors, Impressionism and American contemporary art, this time mainly for the treasure of the town hall - Edward Hope "Nighthawk", Hall 262, Shameless inside Frank to steal the painting seems to be the most like his "Hotel next to the railway", have the opportunity to go to DC.

"Paris Streets on a Rainy Day" Caillebotte, Hall 201, as soon as you enter the door is this picture, a lot of people, to find time to find a seat. Sunday Afternoon on Big Bowl Island by George Seurat, Room 240, larger than expected, loved this one.

Many van Gogh and Monet paintings can be viewed very closely for a long time. The staff will not rush, super satisfied!

Tickets We bought a package of tickets containing several items, we went more than 6 PM, there were not many people. There are two floors in the museum, and the second floor is recently filled with some European and American oil paintings. On the first floor, there are domestic blue and white porcelain, some Japanese art ornaments and exhibitions of old beauty. The museum as a whole is very modern, but also very film.

When we came out, there was a homeless who kept Shouting: This is homeless place, but it was OK, no attack haha, very recommended to oh.

In terms of perception, the Sunday afternoon of Big Bowl Island is really shocking, with the explanation of gpt and small red book, know which is powerful, far look close look really great!! Nighthawks look good too! With the explanation of the app, I felt weird and independent.

There are also many works of art in the museum that reveal a strong American flavor, which will feel really American, bold and impactful.

Every time I go to the museum, I will buy a small souvenir, this time I bought a small picture book (p16), I feel the most cost-effective, the refrigerator sticker is $6, and this book is only 13. Worth it!!
