Vancouver to see the show! Interesting! Like the mushroom show!

💫Toy Story

I went to see a new exhibit last week called Toy Story. There are two floors in total, the first floor and the second floor have video projection, the source is the projector, because lumen is very low, basically can not see the content of the first floor. There aren't many exhibits, but they're all interesting. Seattle can be explored in less than 30 minutes without a video, but includes many of my favorite artists:

  1. Kaws: A well-known street artist from the United States, his work covers a variety of media such as sculpture, painting, toys, and is known for his iconic cartoon images. His works, often characterized by humor and exaggeration, are loved by the younger generation.

  2. Takashi Murakami: Japanese contemporary artist known for his vibrant colors and playful images. He specializes in combining traditional Japanese painting elements with contemporary pop culture to create a unique ultra-flat art style.

  3. Haroshi: An artist from Japan who is known for his unique recycling art. He reworks discarded skateboards, wood and other materials to create stunning sculptures that embody the perfect combination of environmental protection and creativity.

  4. Javier Calleja: An artist from Spain who is known for his concise and humorous style of painting. His works often depict childlike images, expressing rich emotions and connotations through simple lines and colors.

Each artist has his own unique style and charm, which makes me full of more exploration and yearning for creation. This exhibition is really full of children's fun, looking forward to more new exhibitions in Vancouver!

💫 Mushroom Exhibition

As a mushroom lover, I went to see the mushroom exhibition in Vancouver earlier this month, which is very different from the mushroom exhibition in Montreal. The mushroom exhibition in Vancouver is not the focus, but the focus is all about eating and buying!

The Montreal Mushroom Show is free to visit, and there are only a few mushroom-related books for sale, while the Vancouver Mushroom show, alone mushroom-related books are filled with several tables, there are author's lecture time to sign, other T-shirts, food and various crafts are full of steam games about mushrooms! The quality is so good that I can't put my wallet back...

The weather was very cold that day, but also under a lot of rain, the chef dry sauteed the mushrooms, and then made soup, soup in advance of the stew is very soft and rotting radish, eat very similar to Japanese practice, but also with fresh pea leaves, in such weather steaming so that people completely unable to walk, drink directly conquered the money to buy a book, but also asked the chef to give me a signature.

In addition to the surrounding of these mushrooms, there are mushroom planting kits and various mushrooms and wild vegetables to buy, which are very, very fresh, excellent quality, and the price is cheaper than buying in the general market. This season, only morels are wild, and it is full time, if you want to eat porcini and other things have to wait until September, one of the stalls of the girl is said to be specialized in selling wild mushrooms, she will be in various regions of the farmer's market tour, later have the opportunity to squat her.

In short, this mushroom exhibition really gave me a good visit, and I have begun to look forward to the next time!

💫Beaty Biodiversity museum

Today, I finally went to the museum with a complete blue whale skeleton. It is not large but the collection is rich. Today, we took a quick look at all the parts of the baby that are interested in. Later, we have the opportunity to further learn the essence of it. There are volunteers to explain the exhibition, and some animal and plant specimens can also be touched up close. In short, you can both visit freely and participate in interaction.

Today, we were impressed by an elderly volunteer (or retired faculty member) in the museum who is presumed to be 70+ years old. She pushed the car with animal specimens and took the initiative to talk with us about the topics that children are interested in, with a kind attitude and lively and interesting content. She is also wearing an N95 mask, probably because of her age, in case the virus strikes, the body may not be able to cope well. Because of this, I admire her efforts more.

In addition to the attractive animal specimens in the exhibition hall, there is a large cypress ring of more than 700 years to stop us for a long time. Close observation can not only smell the unique aroma of the tree, but also touch its clear rings, and can not help but marvel at its vitality hidden in the long river.

💫Mr Gunter, The Cat Show

CICA(Centre of International Art) is an art museum that opened in gastown in April this year. I didn't notice it when I passed by it for countless times. Instead, my friends and I were attracted by the advertisement of the new exhibition on the bus body and asked me to go there together when I came back from Seattle.

The advertisement for the bus is part of an ongoing exhibition, "Mr Gunter, The Cat Show," featuring paintings, large-scale sculptures and installations by Spanish artist Javier Calleja. The art museum has two floors, and the number of works is small, so it does not seem crowded. The staff told us that these works are from Parco Art in Tokyo (I love Parco in Shibuya!!). And Nanzuka Gallry came by sea, and the time of sea transportation and the exhibition will take about two months. I personally think that in terms of appearance, it is a little similar to Nara Mioshi's works, which are cute with some strange, and it is said that the inspiration of the works is mostly from the author's childhood and understanding of loneliness.

The exhibition was supposed to close on November 6th, but has now been extended to November 20th due to its popularity.
