It's the most beautiful August of the year on Rainier! (Although any time has different beauty, but I still think August is the most beautiful) walking in the wildflower meadows and snow-capped mountains will really sigh that paradise scenic spot is worthy of the name, the real paradise on earth. Living in Seattle feels okay again, and the pain of being a worker is completely healed by nature.
After taking the classic Skyline Loop Trail and the Mount Fremont Lookout Trail, on a rainy day, driving with a companion from the small town of Ashford near Paradise to the stop-and-go road near Sunrise, The gurgling stream and waterfall between the rocks, the wet forest in the light rain, and the snow mountain under the cloud have an unexpected atmosphere, full of negative oxygen ions, 0 burden to enjoy the beauty of the snow mountain forest.
Skyline Trail
The most famous trail, the official guide is 4.5 hours long, based on my own experience in these several times about three and a half minutes. I usually go up the west road and down the east road. There's a fork in the west road about a third of the way down. I prefer the fork on the left to have a better view, but the one on the right is more gentle.
Christine Falls
Opposite the parking point, you can see the waterfall up close, and next to the parking point, there is a step path to see the stream under the bridge.
Christine Falls Bridge is a classic punch-in spot. Myrtle Falls is a small waterfall you will see after climbing the skyline. The background is snow-capped mountains. Reflection lake is at Pinnacle Peak Trailhead and you can climb the trail and watch the sunset
Reflection Lakes
Very close to the road, there are many places along the road to park directly into the lake. As the name suggests, Rainier has the perfect mirror-like view of the snow-capped mountains on sunny days with low winds, but when we went there was a gust of wind and the lake was not calm, but it was still quite beautiful hidden in thick clouds.
Stevens Creek
There are numerous creeks throughout the national park, with spot signs along the way. The view of this creek is relatively far, and a contracted photographer from Sony is shooting here.
Stevens Canyon
Glacier canyon, the color is very special, do not know what kind of landscape in winter, summer has no glacier feeling.
Ohanapecosh Campground
Dedicated camping areas, in addition to the Creek Rain forest, there are 3-4mile Silver Falls Loop trail hikes to go deep.
Tipsoo Lake
It's also a time to check out Rainier's reflection, and the sunset and night sky will be beautiful. Unfortunately, by the time we get here, the snow-capped mountains are completely hidden in the clouds, but the lake view is also amazing, a wonderland of dark green lakes and wildflowers. If you still have the energy, take the Naches Trail, an easy and friendly hike.
There are too many points to explore in the whole park, whether it is walking or driving a forest route, it is a very good choice.
