Barcelona is not only home to the Sagrada Familia, but also a glass palace tucked away in an alleyway - the Catalan Music Palace.
What am I feeling here? Music, and the sun.
The Music Palace was built in the 19th century by the Catalan Choir, which included a number of female singers at a time when women were restricted everywhere, giving women a voice. This music palace is also the only modernist building in the world.
On the wall behind the semi-circular stage, there are eighteen statues of MUSES holding instruments from different parts of the world, representing that music knows no borders. In fact, a maximum of sixteen statues can be seen from the audience, and only the musicians performing on stage can see all the statues, which is also a small "privilege" given to the performers by the designer. There is also an egg, and the third statue from the center left does not hold a musical instrument, but dances flamenco.
The Music Palace is located in an alley, in the narrow space, it is difficult for the sun to shine in. Therefore, the architect designed a "sun" in the middle of the ceiling of the concert hall. This solar energy will reflect the sunlight from above into the entire concert hall, making the hall flowing brightly. It looks like the sun, both physically and functionally.
"The sun" is undoubtedly the core of the entire concert hall, whether it is for the audience or the performers, it is just hanging above, shining forever, bringing light, beauty, inspiration.

The Palace of Music of Catalonia, a work by Mondanel (Teacher Gaudi) in 1908, was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1997. The Palazzo Musica is one of the most stunning modernist buildings in Barcelona. It has a paid tour service, and a concert is more direct and satisfying for those who love music and architecture.

Cafe Palau, in the lobby on the ground floor of the Palace of Music and in the small outdoor square, serves coffee drinks and snacks (Spanish ham is excellent), and is a good place to relax before the show begins.
