It's not the Princess Castle, it's the most beautiful hospital in the world!

📍C/de St. Antoni Maria Claret, 167, Horta-Guinardo, 08025, Barcelona

This week, I went to Sao Paulo Hospital, said to be the most beautiful hospital in the world. Can only say that the architect really understands the girl's heart, I think in this healing environment, the patient will not be better faster Ah. Healing not only the body, but also the soul!

The Hospitalde la Santa Cruz y San Pablo is a group of buildings in Barcelona built between 1901 and 1930, designed by Catalan modernist architect Montanel. In 1997, together with another work by Montanel, the Palazzo Musicale de Catalonia, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Until 2009, it served as the largest hospital in Barcelona. Designed by Montanel, one of the "three modernists" in Barcelona, this hospital is decorated with a large number of colorful blue-green, bright yellow, and even bright pink 🩷 tiles. I think it not only contains inimical interest, kindness and gentleness, but also demonstrates the humanistic care of the founder and designer to the greatest extent.

This is not a noble hospital, just a hospital for the poor people. I think this is one of the most interesting places to see in bcn.

Close to the Sagrada Familia, within walking distance, the entrance gate was stunning, with colorful mosaics, high pink arches, stained glass Windows, and exquisite decorative reliefs, both the exterior and interior of the building were fantastic. I really love the stained glass Windows in Spanish buildings!

If from the appearance of the complex and the luxurious degree of decoration seems to have nothing to do with medical treatment, it is really hard to imagine that this was a hospital before!

The large hospital is made up of small buildings decorated with colorful mosaics, 48 wards connected underground, interspersed with gardens and green Spaces, creating an elegant environment for patients to recuperate. There is a minaret at the top of the entrance building, from which you can have a panoramic view of the whole hospital. The buildings and courtyards are decorated with historical mosaics and sculptures by Paul Gargallo, and the staircases and ceilings inside are in the style of Islamic art.

The whole building of the hospital is very much like a palace, but instead of the majesty of the palace, it is full of gentle pink, the brick decoration on the wall is very beautiful, and various patterns are designed according to plants.

From a tourist point of view, this is one of the few buildings in Barcelona where people are quiet. After admiring the colorful Gaudi three-piece set, have a light dessert and check out the pink dome that fills the heart of a young woman at St. Paul's Hospital.

Food Tips: Along the street near the hospital, there are many chic cafes, which are a good place to enjoy the afternoon. Here, taste the delicious coffee and feel the laid-back attitude of life in Barcelona. There is also a snack street, you can choose a nearby restaurant on Google Map, taste authentic Spanish tapas, let the taste buds also come to a modernist feast.
