A winter visit to Portugal's magical Harry Potter town is a must!

Harry Potter fans should not miss the theme town, located in the north of Lisbon, called Obidos town! Situated on a hill and surrounded by walls, the town was ruled by the Moors, the Spanish and, of great importance, the Kings of Portugal.

It is one of the best preserved medieval towns in Europe. According to archaeological remains, humans have settled in Obidos since at least the Paleolithic period.

Like a large open-air theme park, it completely restores the state of life in the Middle Ages: costumes, street markets, traditional food, music, drama, and even the battle of knight competitions. You can have a complete immersive experience, sometimes like in a movie, sometimes like in a dream.

The most famous history of Obidos is the lovely name it has always given as "the City of Wedding gifts".

Back in 1282, King Donne Dinis gave his new bride, Queen Dona Isabel, a gift of the wonderful town of Obidos.

The history behind the medieval town is not only romantic, but so is the town itself. In the centuries since the town was founded, little has changed. The town is surrounded by original walls that make Obidos a powerful fortress.

The town is very old style, Christmas decorations on residents' doors, antique arched Windows, plus winter flowers, walking in the winding alleys, this is the taste of Europe.

The town itself is free, but tickets are required to enter the "theme park" during medieval market events, which run from five o 'clock until the wee hours of the morning. Unlimited access a day, just ask a staff member to stamp his arm. It's not big, there are many shows, the actors are similar, and the shows are different every day.

10 Euro tickets, all inclusive, including Quidditch, broom gliding, more than 80 percent of the original play, and a lot of role play! Feels a lot more grounded than Universal Studios.

Medieval clothing style can be referred to the 2010 edition, the standard clothing underwear is white hemp fabric, the outer coat is mainly robes, more straight tube-shaped fresh waist, the sleeves are more trumpet-shaped, the upper part is tightened, the elbow is released. Belts, pins and rings were important decorations of that period. It was a long belt, tied from front to back and folded back, with long tassels hanging from the front.

🏠 Accommodation:

To stay! Play until the wee hours. It's recommended to stay in a small town. Book in advance. It's like Disneyland. It's a little more expensive, but the experience is better. Plus, you don't have to drive to get high in town, you can drink all you want.

🍽 Diet:

Madok Restaurante

inside is Harry Potter decoration, like the family can be inside, we sit outside is also very emotional, waiter little brother will not say, good enthusiasm! Mostly a little handsome!

Alcaide

The first restaurant in Obidos, located on the main street to the market entrance, has outdoor tables upstairs. The creative dish cod with cheese + chestnuts + apples is delicious, and the chef's version of lamb with sauce is also very good, around €20 per person.

💫 Recommended:

  1. Late night outdoor party, high! Everyone jumps around with the sound drum, like a bonfire party, the atmosphere is particularly good!

  2. Play with fire to close the big play, the stage is wonderful and fantastic.

  3. Some programs will interact with children, which can be actively experienced. Children with a sense of participation will be very integrated and interesting.

The previous episode "Medieval Wedding Town" documented the stunning beauty of Obidos, which can be combined.

There are a lot of wisteria trees in the town that you can punch a card, basically just take pictures, some souvenir shops are decorated very carefully, you can also take pictures, but first ask if you can take photo oh.

Visiting Obidos, you will walk along narrow cobblestone streets and see quaint whitewashed houses with blue decorations that are not only covered with flowers, but also contain flower boxes filled with colorful flowers. Throughout the town, you will experience the influence of the Baroque, Renaissance and Gothic decoration and design of yesteryear.

Stayed for two days, saw a completely different show, and didn't get home until the wee hours of the morning. This place is very easy to go crazy, strong Amway, and trust me, you have to experience it when you get the chance.
