Take a look at the place on Earth that most resembles the moon

Cappadocia is famous for its fairy-tale mottled rock formations: peculiar rock formations, caves and historical remains of semi-reclusive people fascinate. Originally a refuge for Christians from Roman persecution, a group of monks established the main part of Cappadocia in the 4th century. Through the special landscape of long years of weathering and water erosion, standing rock hills of different shapes, thousands of caves have been carved on these rock faces, and many of the caves have preserved many frescoes, a unique witness of the late anti-iconoclastic art in Byzantine art. Cappadocia's unique karst landscape resembles the surface of the moon and has been called "the most moon-like place on Earth."

Collection of Cappadocia attractions

📍Mushroom Valley (fairy chimney)

Cappadocia unique landform because Turkey in the earthquake zone, the earthquake formed volcanic ash and magma caused, because the shape like a lot of mushrooms named mushroom Valley. Mushroom Valley is located on the northeast side of Greme Village, which is filled with a large number of mushroom rocks. The Cappadocia region has many strange terrain, mushroom rock is one of them. The origin of Mushroom Valley's unique landscape is the eruption of three volcanoes, Erciyes, Hasandag and Golludag, millions of years ago. After the cooling and calcification of a large amount of magma emitted by the volcano, it solidifies into a weathered rock layer. The dark mushroom head above the mushroom rock is a residual igneous rock, which refers to a kind of rock formed after the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. The more diverse mushroom stalk below is tuff, which is a kind of pyroclastic rock.

📍Camel Valley (Imaginary Valley)

Camel Valley you can see camel rocks, Napoleon hats and lovebird kissing rocks. They come in many shapes, from camels to kissing ducklings, so you need to imagine.

📍 Avanos Ceramic Town
In the vicinity of Greme, drive 20 minutes to the ceramic town of Avanos, the town is not big, only went to the picture of this place, ceramic relatively concentrated on a small street.

Time more friends, you can come to see, ceramic is basically the picture of these, much the same, bought a plate, from 200 lira bargaining to 160 lira, the owner has refused to give discounts, pretend to go, go to the door she agreed to sell 160TL, so you can bargain more.

This street ceramic shop can also experience making ceramics. When I went to meet the guide to explain ceramics to tourists, so it is also a punch point bar/local characteristics.

The feeling is to sell things, some things are really good, bargaining can be directly half or even less... We bought a set of ceramics, the original price said $800, at the beginning said 60% discount to us $500, the last $250 won, why do I think it can be lower? They have too many items, should want to sell more, the price should be easy to say.

📍 Kai Macri Dungeons
Upon arrival, head to the underground city of Kaymakli to see Turkey's "tunnel War", an eight-story underground city that accommodates 10,000 people and is 40 meters deep, which was excavated as early as BC. By the second century BC, the first Christians were living underground, fleeing repression by the Roman army. The dungeon contains a church, kitchen, winemaking area, and ventilation shafts to keep the air flowing. Some tunnels are so narrow that only one person can bend over and touch the wall (I can only crouch in Figure 11), and the ancients also wisely invented the giant disk stone gate, which can be turned on and off by a roller, so that the tunnel can be completely closed off from the enemies chasing outside in a crisis. Christianity has been preserved and continued here.

Then head to the Pigeon Valley Observation Deck to see Kappa's strange landscape.

Taste local home-cooked meals in local cave homes and stay in cave hotels.

A total of 8 floors, 4 floors open to visitors, the power of faith is really great, the residents of the underground city in addition to some construction work, is the daily worship.

📍 The Grime open-Air Museum

Since the fourth century AD, the cave village has gathered churches, cave churches and chapels with many frescoes, and Grammy is the most representative small village in the entire Cappadocia region. In the caves built by the early Christians for the sake of refuge and maintenance, there were many chapels, boys' dormitories and girls' dormitories (monasteries), many pigeon nests, pigeons were messengers and even the Holy Spirit, and pigeon droppings could be used as fertilizer.

📍 Ulsay Castle
Passing by, take a photo, it's a pretty cave
The Castle of Uchizar in Kappa is a great place to film caves, big and small! A lot of foreigners have a look at the location below the mountainside and left directly.
Only the Chinese can discover this place from little Red book Kappa's scenic spots are mostly karst landforms and other scenic spots don't want to go to this point.
