Korea July exhibition recommended | See three exhibitions in one day!

1️⃣ 미래긍정 노먼포스터 포스터+파트너스
📍 서울시립미술관 서소문 1층 전시실
📆 4월 25일~7월 21일
⏰ 화~일 10:00~20:00
The Norman Foster and Foster + Partners architecture exhibition at the Seoul Metropolitan Museum of Art showcases 50 representative projects, including 300 architectural models, paintings, videos and archives. Through a series of works, the audience is given a more detailed view of the architect and his firm's illustrious 60-year career.

The exhibition is divided into six sections, including sustainability, present and past, technology, public space, immersive rooms and future architecture. Architecture professionals will be very interested in this exhibition.

(Norman Foster-level architect + Seoul Museum of Art + Rare architectural exhibition + Asia's largest exhibition)

I went at 11am on Saturday and there were no queues. There was some flow of people at the scene, but it was not crowded and the photo was not affected.

If you do not like the crowd, it is recommended to go early! When I first heard about Norman Foster in the United States, I knew he was a master architect, but I didn't know him very well. You can see past works and manuscripts, at first I thought they were drawn with CAD, but a closer look seems to be hand-painted! That's really awesome! It also presents a philosophical view on "sustainability", which may be difficult to understand if you are not familiar with or interested in architecture, and it is recommended to choose the guide and listen to the explanation.

2️⃣ 정영선 : 이 땅에 숨 쉬는 모든 것을 위하여
📍 국립현대미술관 서울
📆 4월 5일~9월 22일
⏰ 10:00~18:00
정영선 is the first generation of landscape architects in Korea and the first female landscape architect certified as a landscape technician in Korea. She has previously appeared in 유퀴즈 and has a solo documentary film, 땅에 쓰는 시.
The Jeffrey Jellicow Award, which won the Pritzker Prize for landscape architecture in 2023, "successfully interprets the concept of landscape architecture that originated in the West in Korean soil and landscape."

In the exhibition, you can see some landscape works and manuscripts from the Park Chung-hee administration (when zf realized the importance of landscape construction), and there is also a real scene work outside
After seeing these two exhibitions, I still feel quite similar, both involve the field of architecture and pursue the philosophy of "sustainability".

3️⃣ 한국 근현대 자수 : 태양을 잡으려는 새들

📍 국립현대미술관 덕수궁
📆 5월 1일~8월 4일
⏰ 10:00~18:00(수,토 21:00까지) 월요일 휴무
The biggest charm of embroidery is to look at it from another Angle, you will see the same gradual effect, and each Angle will look different.
The colors, patterns and details of each embroidery piece show the harmony between traditional beauty and modernity. Natural elements such as flowers, birds, trees, etc. are brought to life through embroidery.
