The eighth wonder of the world! The Queen's Garden can't be missed!

The exquisite Yekaterina Palace and Gardens, located 25 km south of St. Petersburg in the town of Pushkin. It was originally built for Empress Catherine I of Russia.

It is a magnificent Rococo style building with an impressive blue and gold facade. The interior of the palace is equally luxurious, decorated with plenty of gold leaf and fine art. One of the most famous is the Amber Room. It is a room decorated with amber flakes and has been called "the eighth wonder of the world".

In 1710, Peter I showed the original small estate to his wife Catherine. In 1741, Elizabeth, the daughter of Peter and Catherine, upon her accession to the throne, transformed this modest manor into a grand and luxurious residence. Her niece, Catherine II, the only tsar in Russian history to be called the Great, continued to renovate it, creating an English garden around the palace's French gardens and the lake.

However, during World War II, the Amber Room was demolished by Nazi German occupation forces and disappeared. After years of hard work, the Amber Room has been restored and is once again open to the public.

In my mind, the palace and the very elegant garden, the combination of baroque beauty, classical nature, romantic sentiment, to achieve this unique Russian queen's garden. One of the most amazing is the "amber Room", resplendent, good shock.
