Time: Tuesday - Sunday (10:00-18:00)
Address: 18 Rue Antoine Bourdelle, 75015 Paris
Metro: Line 6 Montparnasse exit 2 go straight for 1 minute and then turn left for 2 minutes.
Sculptor Antoine Bourdel was a big man in the late 1800s and early 1900s. As a pupil of Rodin, the Frenchman created many monumental works, including the modernist relief frieze at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees inspired by Isadora Duncan and Nijinsky.

The museum is dedicated to the artist's life, with his apartment and studio taking center stage. Since Bourdelle's death in 1929, two more wings have been added, each exploring his work in greater detail, including various Beethoven bronze works he created in different forms.

The museum was the studio of the sculptor Antoine Boudelle from 1885 to 1929 and shows what a Parisian art studio looked like in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum now houses more than 500 exhibits.

The museum is divided into four parts: Buddle's studio, the sculpture garden, the auditorium, and the museum's extension: Memorial work.
In the sculpture garden are Budel's famous bronze sculptures, which stand side by side with four statues representing eloquence, victory, strength and freedom.

The auditorium was built by architect Henri Gautruche in 1961, the centenary of Budel's birth. Many of the large statues here feature ancient Greek heroes. Examples include the Head of Apollo, the archers of Hercules (H), Penelope, the Dying Centauri, and Sappho.

Expansion of the museum: The memorial work was designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc. The light of the zenith, the gray-green tone of the walls, and the shades of stone and cement gray are all reminiscent of the old studio.

"Monument aux Combattants et Defenseurs du Tarn-et-Garonne de 1870-1871" (Monument aux combattants et Defenseurs du Tarn-et-Garonne de 1870-1871) was the first major work by Bouder, who said: "I wanted to express all human suffering by cutting the sky with my desperate arms."
In addition to a series of sculptures, the museum also houses a collection of little-known paintings by Boudle, which mainly illustrate his early career. The artist's personal collection, including antiques, plaster molds, paintings, drawings, prints, etc., is displayed as part of the permanent collection in rotation, reflecting the aesthetic of the people of the time.
