According to the Tibetan interpretation, the Shoton Festival is a day for drinking yogurt, and later the content of the activities gradually expanded to not only hold a grand ceremony to expose Buddha, but also a Tibetan opera performance.

Good places to see Tibetan opera:
📍 Norbulingka
As the most classic Rinkka, Roblinkka is certainly a good place to go during Shoton. Purchase your ticket and enjoy a feast for the senses during Shotton. Generally from 9 am to 5:30 PM, you can watch Tibetan operas in the park to feel the charm of traditional culture.

After watching the Tibetan opera, you can lay a carpet in the park, eat some snacks, drink some yogurt, enjoy the pleasant snow suddenly light ~

📍 Jongkok Luk Kang Park
As another park frequented by locals, Shoton Festival is also a good choice to spend here. In Zongjiao Lukang Park, you can see the wonderful Tibetan opera performance, remember to bring ancient tree yogurt together to taste yogurt, watch Tibetan opera!

Zongjiao Lukang Park: Lhasa's hidden treasures

When it comes to Lhasa's famous attractions, most people will first think of places such as Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple. But today, I would like to recommend to you a hidden place that is not widely known by foreign tourists, but is loved by local people - Zong Kok Lukang Park.

Zongjiao Lukang Park, also known as Longwangtan, is located in the north of the Potala Palace. For many visiting tourists, this is an excellent place to photograph the reflection of the Potala Palace. However, when you actually walk into this place, you will find that it is more than just a photography mecca.

After entering the park, you will be gathered by the strong atmosphere of life here. Whether it is people walking dogs, people taking photos, or people dancing, they all enjoy their time here. Whether it is the Tibetan people or the friends of the Han nationality, everyone is intoxicated in this green world and enjoys the beauty of life.

It is worth mentioning that the visit here is free, but you need to show a travel code when entering the park. In addition, in order to respect local customs, it is recommended to visit the park clockwise after entering.

In Zongjiao Lukang Park, you can see the reflection of Potala Palace on the lake, you can hear the laughter of children, and you can feel the love and satisfaction of the local people for life.

✅ Zongjiao Lukang Park is a free park, just behind the Potala Palace, there are 4 entrances to enter (White Tower entrance, postal storage entrance, Civil Aviation Administration entrance, district Political Consultative Conference entrance). It is recommended to enter from the Civil Aviation Administration and the entrance of the district CPPCC, and there is no need to queue up. See the 📍 mark on the map in Figure 13.

✅ The boat tour in the park is 40 yuan for half an hour, Longwangtan is not big, half an hour is quite enough. Longwangtan there is a temple for Longwangtan Temple, go in to visit the need for 10 yuan tickets.

✅ Park east square has a special jumping guozhuang place, very lively, you can join at will. There are many wild ducks in Longwangtan, and you are not afraid that people will ask you for food (but it is not recommended to feed them).
