When it comes to Datong, many people's first impression is the coal carbon capital, as if it is difficult to define it as a travel city, underground cultural relics to see Shaanxi, above-ground cultural relics to see Shanxi, compared to Xi 'an, Luoyang, Nanjing's hot, this "three generations of Beijing" millennium ancient capital can be too low-key.
The hanging temple on the cliff, the mottled murals in the ancient temple, and the historic buildings that can be seen everywhere in the ancient city are worth stopping to savor. Carefully collate a guideline recommendation collection!

【 5 Places to visit in Datong 】
1️⃣ Huayan Temple
Named after the Buddhist classic "Hua Yan Sutra", the temple is a step-by-step scene, from statues to murals to buildings, the heavy sense of history comes to the face, and people can not calm down for a long time. Huayan Temple has a profound Buddhist cultural heritage. Standing in front of the Mahavira Hall and the Bhaga Temple, I felt a sense of grandeur.
2️⃣ Yungang Grottoes
Missus missus is amazing!! The whole thing is amazing! I can't help but marvel at the wisdom and aesthetic ability of people 1,000 years ago to build such a shocking cultural landscape on this land. This has been my third brush Yungang grottoes, still see tears.
Everyone who comes to Shanxi is here to take photos of their lives and the Mogao Grottoes and Longmen Grottoes are known as the three major grottoes. As the "prequel" of Longmen Grottoes, the Yungang Grottoes, excavated in the Northern Wei Dynasty, has more than 51,000 stone statues, which can be described as a stone history book dating back to 1600 years.
3️⃣ Datong Tullin
See the ridge side of the peak, the distance and height are different. Under the constant baptism of wind and rain, it has created the ever-changing form of Datong soil forest, which looks like a "devil's city" standing on the Loess Plateau.
Here, you can enjoy your imagination, a colorful soil walls, soil columns, some like cities, some like castles, and some hanging on the horizon, like a watchtower.
Walking in the soil forest, like straying into the elite ancient city, is very interesting. Wearing ethnic, Western or American cowboy styles fits the scene very well here.
4️⃣ Hanging Kong TempleLocated in Hunyuan County, Datong, it is built on a mountain and hangs in the air. A total of 40 pavilions are stacked and staggered, and there are only a dozen wooden columns at the bottom to support it, no wonder Li Bai wants to leave the word "spectacular".
It not only integrates the art of Chinese garden architecture, but also loses the pattern of Chinese traditional architecture. Based on the mechanical principle of half-inserted flying beams, skillfully supported by rocks, the beams and columns are integrated up and down, and the porch columns are connected left and right, with surprising twists and turns. Temple within the copper, iron, stone, mud, more than 80 Buddha statues, the whole temple for the wooden frame structure, in the cliff hole inserted hanging beam as the base, pavilions to communicate with the plank road, back against the steep cliff, under the deep valley, the temple is not big, but clever, but also quite spectacular.
5️⃣ Yingxian Wooden Pagoda
The 67-meter-tall tower, built without a single nail, has survived war and several earthquakes. Even Liang Sicheng praised: "Without this tower, I do not know to what extent the possibility of wooden structure."
