I have been working in London for some time. I am tired of the busy anxiety of the city and just want to escape London for a leisurely walk on weekends. It's chestnut and mushroom picking season, so it's a good time to go out.

From Elephant Castle, take the bus all the way to Eynsford station and head straight to Lullingstone Park. The mushrooms and chestnuts on the picture are all seen here. A week's work, it is necessary to spend a whole afternoon in the forest to heal.
Although the autumn is cold, but the autumn harvest ah, ha ha ha.

This week, I went to a park in the south. Although it rained, it could not stop everyone's enthusiasm to go out. There is a large lavender field at the entrance of the park, and you can see large lavender fields in summer.

Occasionally there is no signal or weak signal, but there are many large grasslands in the park, and the road conditions are relatively simple, so the impact is not large. It's perfectly fine to play alone.

We are relatively lucky, playing when it basically did not rain, when the return trip under some, but also reminded everyone to take an umbrella, a group of people walking in the light rain in the park, it is quite romantic. People are really good at giving emotional value, can find a small mushroom can exclaim and surround.

Leaving Victoria Station at 9:47am. 10:41am Arriving at Eynsford Station. Passing by the castle, there will be a community centre with toilets and seats for rest and picnic. The overall road condition is very good. In the second half of the journey, the rain passed and the sky cleared, and we came to a small slope and saw someone running along the top of the hill.

🍄 Mushrooms can be seen and remembered, but if you want to eat it or be careful again, after all, the British area may not be as advanced as Yunnan fungus poisoning department.

Chestnut vs. Horse chestnut

Of course, when picking chestnuts, it was very quiet, because it could not be picked up at all, and the back began to pick. (Already eating very sweet.) Chestnut taste is sweet and edible, horse chestnut taste bitter and poisonous, chestnut tip has a small whisker, horse chestnut does not. Chestnut shell is dense with thin spines, horse chestnut shell spines are thick and sparse.

Note: It is the rainy season recently, everyone remember to check the weather forecast before departure, wear a raincoat with an umbrella, wear boots or a foot of mud. Rain also depends on the amount of rainfall, rainfall is small or can be flushed.

lthough I did not pick up porcini mushrooms (I guess no one dared to eat them), I saw a lot of interesting mushrooms, Reishi and even wood fungus. Maybe it's fungus.

There are also some small forests around London where you can pick mushrooms!

  1. Wimbledon Common: Located in south-west London, Wimbledon Common is a great place for mushroom gathering due to its ecological richness and relatively wet forest.

  2. Hampstead Heath is a huge mushroom colony in North London!! Go check it out.

  3. Ashridge Estat: Some distance from London, in Hertfordshire, offers rich wooded and parkland, also perfect for autumn mushroom gathering.

  4. Winkworth Arboretum This is a treasure trove of wild mushrooms, my personal favorite National Park! But London used to be very inconvenient.
