The medieval city of magic, this is the place that will haunt you

I really like Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, too much to take photos of its beauty, the real architecture is amazing to me, is one of the UK must visit the city. It is the birthplace of Rowling's creation of Harry Potter, and it is also the shooting place of Jay Chou's mv "Mingming". Edinburgh is not a big city and many places are within walking distance.

Even if it's stormy, it's hard to stop yourself from falling in love with this city. The city most like the medieval castle, which seems to shuttle back to the past era. Edinburgh is so beautiful in winter!! Edinburgh is not big, the attractions are also very concentrated, and you can finish shopping in a day. 3 days can play very leisurely, and can feel the romance of the city.

🚄 Station: Edinburgh Waverley Station (it must be right to stay here). This time, the three of us chose Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh, which is opposite Waverley station and close to the city center. The hotel is very clean and the service is very good.

Walk 🚌 indoor traffic: ha ha ha ha ha (Edinburgh all play area are concentrated in wali standing nearby, legs, back and forth the basic 3 to 18 minutes distance).

Route:

1️⃣Day1: Wivalli Bridge - Scott Monument - Princes Street Gardens - Victoria Street - Royal Mile - Edinburgh Castle - Calton Hill

Waverly Bridge ➕ Scott Bridge

These two places are next to each other, and next to the station, the Waverley Bridge we found two classic seats, as long as they don't interfere with the traffic, and the monument we found the stairs next to it, and we shot them all. The Gort Memorial is a Victorian Gothic monument dedicated to the Scottish writer Walter Scott. It is located in Princes Street Gardens, across Princes Street from Jenners Department store and close to Edinburgh Waverley Station.

The tower is 200 feet 6 inches tall and is reached by narrow steps from a series of observation platforms at the top of the spire, overlooking Edinburgh city centre and its surroundings. Climbing 287 steps to the highest observation deck, the tower is made of sandstone mined from nearby Ecclesmachan, which contains asphalt that turns it black.

Today's weather is particularly good, I climbed up!

Edinburgh Castle

Castlehill, Edinburgh EH1 2NG) stands atop an extinct volcanic granite in the heart of the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, and its origins date back to the 6th century AD, when it was used as a fortification and an important royal fortress.

The architectural style here incorporates elements from multiple periods, presenting a unique blend of styles. The interior of the castle contains several monuments and buildings, such as Mons Meg, which once housed French prisoners, the Palace Block, where Scotland's royal coat of arms is displayed, and the One o'clock Gun, which is a display of Scottish national pride.

Standing above the castle, visitors can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city, including the historic Royal Mile in the Old Town and the George IV Bridge, As well as the New Town's iconic Regency architecture and tree-lined Princes Street Gardens.

It's also very accessible, with public transport, such as buses or taxis, about a 10-minute drive from Edinburgh's Waverley Station. In addition, the castle is within walking distance of the famous Princes Street and the surrounding area is well equipped for walking.

A direct Google Map search can jump to the official website to buy tickets, 19.5 pounds a person. Here we also found two seats, and it seems that one is in the same model as Jay. There is also a small museum where you can see the Queen's crown and scepter!

Calton Hill

The sunset is gonna kill you here! If you are lucky, you can see the Dundar effect, when the light shines through the clouds and comes to the earth, I do not know how to describe this beauty, as if God's gift to the world. And people huddled together at the top of a mountain waiting to watch the sunset, suddenly realized on the top of a mountain the form of my true desire for intimacy. You can even climb the monument, I was pulled up like a puddle of mud haha.

2️⃣Day2: Scottish National Gallery ➕ National Museum of Scotland

National Gallery of Scotland

Indoors, we all went alone the next day, one is that they closed early, the second is so that the next day can sleep in without makeup! Don't love anyone around sunglasses! There are some great masters in the gallery! I saw a lot of paintings by Monet, Van Gogh and Rembrandt up close! Family who understand ah, this is the Shandong high school art textbook painting! Picasso, Monet, van Gogh...

A total of four floors, the first floor is a cafe and souvenir shop. Ground access is the second floor, you can first go to the third floor, fourth floor visit, and then down to the second floor, on the way.

All are famous paintings, when we entered the door, we asked the volunteer tour guide which floor is more famous, they are very calm said that all are famous, all are very famous Monet van Gogh on the fourth floor, other famous people look and check. You can reserve four hours if you want to take your time. Close at five. Don't be late! At the door is Princes Street Garden, and after visiting, you can also see the beautiful scenery surrounding the castle at sunset.

National Museums of Scotland

The museum is the famous Dolly the sheep. The museum is very large, with five floors. Each venue has its own theme and unique layout. There are six main themes in the exhibition: Windows on the World, the Natural World, Art and Design, Science and Technology, Scottish History and Archaeology, and World Cultures.

Outside the museum is a Victorian building, grey cold tone exterior wall, and black similar burnt marks, full of history, is also rated as Scotland's greatest building of the 20th century.

When you enter the museum, you will first pass through a retro passage with dim lighting and wall tiles, some exhibits placed on both sides and museum shops, and then you will enter the Grand Gallery. The transparent design and bright colors make the Grand Gallery a clock-in point for Internet celebrities. Standing at the entrance, you can see the Grand Gallery to the roof. The white balustrade and spiral staircase are full of Instagram wind, and through the dense crowd, you can see the deer skeleton at the end of the exhibition hall, as if the deer fairy is greeting you.
