British free travel, the Lake District is my heart of paradise!

If the English countryside is attractive enough for you, then you will definitely love the Lake District, a rural area in Cumbria, northwest England, with 14 lakes of all sizes.

The entrance town to the Lake District is Windermere, which has the Lake District's only railway station and coach station. There is no direct train station to Windermere in the UK, so you generally need to change at the following three stations to go to Windermere station. The three stations are: Carlisle station (Penrith station) and Oxenholme station (Oxenholme station).

Visit the Lake District, the main focus of the lake District's three famous towns: Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere (Grasmere).

🔹 Lake Windermere

This time we went to Windermere Lake, the largest and most representative of the lake District. It was also the filming location for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Unlike Edinburgh, the Lake District must be sunny to see its stunning scenery. Overlapping mountains, fairy-tale towns, the most British characteristics of the countryside, constitute the most beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains.

Be sure to take a scenic walk along the long Windermere Lake and feed the swans and pigeons at the lake. There are also boat Tours available at Bowness Pier.

🔹 The town of Grasmere

Compared with the bustle of the largest lake Windermere, Grasmere is much quieter, the lawns are particularly green, and herds of cattle and sheep can be seen at close range outside.

The famous English poet William Wordsworth once lived here, the poet's former home Dove Cottage in the town entrance parking lot walk to the road opposite, visit the house will charge. It was here that Wordsworth wrote a collection of romantic poems.

The town has a very famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, the smell of bread can be smelled far away, the queue is quite large.

🔹 Ambuside

Bridge House is a landmark building in the town of Ambuside, built over a stream that spans only 3-4 meters. Built more than 300 years ago, there are many stories about it, some say it was built on the bridge to avoid local taxes, and some say it was really inhabited, one man named Chairy Rigg lived here with his wife and children for eight years. In 1926, the owner of this house donated it to the government.

🔹 Gingerbread house

A dessert shop in the town, founded in 1630, mainly sells Gingerbread, which is commonly eaten by British people, because it contains ginger, cinnamon and other spices to eat a piece of it can make people instantly warm up. We didn't have to wait too long but we could go early, and the line was already a little longer when we got out. The rich, buttery aroma of the gingerbread house was wafting through the line at the door! The staff wear vintage clothes and the decor is full of character.

Signature gingerbread, buttery super rich, the appearance is a little bit of the texture, but the overall is hard, not crispy cookies, like ginger candy (brown sugar cake) texture. When you bite into it, you can occasionally taste the grains of ginger, which smells ginger, but doesn't taste spicy. It's amazing. The ginger, the butter and the sugar combine beautifully.
