Who hasn't had Whitby's Goth festival 🧛 fun!

🎃 Whitby Goth Weekend
🥇 October 27-29
🥈 April 26-28

Legend has it that a man created Dracula in Whitby, and since then, the soul of vampires 🧛 has inhabited Whitby, and since then Whitby has had another name - the hometown of vampires.

🗺️ The main attractions

Whitby Abbey
🎫 Admission: 10 pounds per person
This ancient and sacred Gothic style building is located in the heart of the town overlooking the whole town. It boasts huge stable columns, soaring arches, and to reach the monastery you have to walk up the famous 199 steps.
Whitby Abbey Graves
There is no ticket, after walking 199 steps, you will be shocked by the stone-gray tombstones in front of you! It is right next to the monastery, standing on a cliff, facing the sea, quite a desolate feeling.
Whitby Harbour
There are many fish and chip shops on the shore, seagulls can be seen swooping down and calling loudly, and in the distance you can see the monastery on the cliff.
Town wandering
Shuttling through each street, you may be able to enjoy more beautiful scenery and taste more food.

The experience of the Whitby Goth Festival itself is still very good, the atmosphere is very strong, the people in costumes are very friendly, and it is also very much worth going to! But delayed trains and uncrowded buses, sky-high accommodation and sudden downpours can have a big impact on the travel experience. Weather is force majeure, but the first two can be minimized with better planning! Share my friends and I still have a "leeway" guideline.

About Transportation:
The train from London to #whitby is very inconvenient, and it takes a long time to transfer, so it is almost impossible to return in one day, and it is a waste of time to return in two days, so my friends and I simply split the journey and lived in Middlesbrough, and then went to saltburn and york to play for most of the day, which is also on the right way.

About Accommodation:
The accommodation in Whitby is not determined long in advance, either cannot be determined or cannot afford to live there, so many guides recommend living in york and commuting to whitby one day. However, when I did the guide myself, I found York was very inconvenient, because the accommodation in york was not cheap, and york was far away from whitby, it would take two or three hours to change. It's gonna be a lot of special forces and a lot of uncertainty. On my last trip back from whitby, the train was late and many people missed the last transfer to york and were stuck at the transit station (which I avoided by not living in york).

So I recommend [middlesbrough] this place (that is, the place where the train changes between york and whitby) middlesbrough to whitby takes more than an hour directly, we go at 10:00 am, we can arrive before noon, we return at 7:00 PM, and we return to the hotel at 9:00 PM. Commute times are friendly, you don't have to worry about late trains or getting up early, and Middlesbrough has a great place to stay and eat!

We stayed in Holiday Inn Express, a relatively cheap chain brand of Intercontinental, but it is also relatively guaranteed. Per capita 300r is less than one night, including breakfast. We stayed for 2 days.

But the disadvantage is that it may be more suitable for London friends who have 3 days of vacation to play more comfortable (other areas can check the feasibility of their own), only reserving 2 days this route is not suitable but can be referred to. Here are the details of our three-day itinerary
