⛰️: Wave Rock
📍: Hyden WA 6359

Wave Rock, shaped like a giant ocean wave and about 15 metres high, is located in western Australia near the town of Hyden, about 340 kilometres east of Perth. It takes about 3-4 hours by car from Perth and tickets are A $12 per car. Formed 2.7 billion years ago, the rock has weathered and eroded to the point where it now looks like a congealed mass of sea spray.

Why would I regret not going?

  1. Geological wonders: Wave Rock is like a huge wave of stone, very suitable for shooting large films, sending friends circle will be a fire!

  2. Nearby attractions: Hippos Yawn Rock and Murka Cave are also interesting places to visit.
    ...

    Why would you regret going?

  3. Inconvenient transportation: Far from the city, long driving time, public transportation is not convenient.

  4. Limited facilities: With few accommodation and dining options, people who like the convenience of the city may find it difficult to adapt.

Bottom line: Wave Rock has unique scenery for nature lovers. When you're here, don't forget to follow the steps up to the boulders for distant views. In addition, this area is far from light hazards and is suitable for overnight stargazing. However, there are not many attractions along the way to Wave Rock, and if you have enough time and can tolerate the long drive, it is still worth visiting!

The strange landform landscape always makes people marvel at the uncanny workmanship of nature, and the wave rock of Western Australia is still amazing. The boulders are like waves, making people want to surf on the rocks.

Wave Rock is one of the world's eighth largest geoparks and has been featured on the cover of National Geographic, two billion years of weathering has created granite formations 15 meters high and 110 meters long like giant waves on land.

You look so small walking on it. 330 km away from Pert city Wave rock drive about 3 hours 40 minutes, although the round trip to nearly 8 hours, but come to Western Australia not to always have a regret!

It is recommended to visit around noon, not too much shadow is more suitable for photography. If you have time, climb the massive rock, or take the nearby trail and hike to hippo's Rock, which resembles a hippopotamus with its mouth wide open.

Parking can be parked in front of small shops to save on parking fees. Standing under the Wave Rock will indeed sigh the uncanny workmanship of nature, people feel the life perspective of ants under the rock waves. Along the side stairs you can walk to the boulders and overlook the scenery of the nature reserve.

Still quite shocking, never seen such a neat trace, the bottom and top walk around for about 1 hour, remember to wear a pair of non-slip shoes. The best thing is the stars at night, far away from the city and no light source to disturb, really full of stars.

I feel that most of my friends are because of the distance, because whether it is Perth, Albany, Esperance, it is about 350km, if you look at it, 700km a day is very tired, it is better to stay one night

There are few accommodation options in Hyden, and the main hotels have not been on the third-party platform, and there is no map on the official website. I can only have a rough look according to Google Review, and finally chose this one with relatively good conditions.

Because there is no hurry to live here, it is beautiful to wait until the last light of the sunset on the wavy rock, and it is also beautiful to look at the pink clouds reflected in the several lakes where you live.
