Whether you're a book lover or a fashionista, there's always a place for you in San Francisco

San Francisco's Seaside Museum of Tranquility - the Legion of Honor Museum

The Legion of Honor Museum in Lincoln Park is a complete replica of the Legion d 'Honneur in Paris, France, dedicated to the 3,600 Californians who lost their lives fighting in France during World War I.

The museum's collection spans 4,000 years of ancient and European art, including masterpieces such as Auguste Rodin's "The Thinker," E.M. kinner organ, European decorative art and paintings, works of ancient art, and one of the largest collections of art on paper in the United States.

The Legion of Honor Museum is located in Lincoln Park, SF. It was established by San Francisco philanthropist Alma de Bretteville Spreckels in memory of California soldiers killed in World War I and opened in 1924.

The museum is a small replica of the Hotel des Invalides in Paris, France. The architectural style is neoclassical, showcasing stately colonnades, spacious courtyards and elegant sculpture gardens.

The museum covers collections from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, including paintings (such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Gogh, Monet, etc.); Sculptures include numerous works by Rodin; The collection also includes furniture, porcelain and tapestries. But to be fair, none of these works are famous. It is because there are not many people, the whole exhibition seems very relaxed, and visitors will feel comfortable.

Today coincides with Japanese Prints in Transition: From the Floating World to the Modern World, a special exhibition of Japanese prints, and of course Katsushika Hokusai's famous Kanagawa. Parking is very plentiful, general exhibition $20, special exhibition extra fee.

City Lights Bookstore

City Lights Bookstore is a cultural center for the Beat Generation, opened in 1953 by Beat poet Lawrence Fringhetti. Since then, it has remained one of the leading independent bookstores in the United States, with a rich collection of works ranging from new releases to hard-to-find niche publications. In an intimate and laid-back setting, book lovers often gather to discuss literature.

The famous City Lights Bookstore, founded in 1953 by poets Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Peter D. Martin, was once nearly jailed for publishing a collection of poems on controversial topics of the era

One of the few independent bookstores in the United States, it is also the first full paperback bookstore in the United States, attracting literary and young people from all over the country to come to this card

After several expansions, the bookstore now has three floors, classic and popular literature on the first floor, poetry on the second floor, and art films and children's books (with eggs) in the basement. There are large publishing houses, but also niche, rare publishing house works, each row of shelves are thoughtfully marked with store recommendations, as well as books that have been banned due to The Times

Sitting in the rocking chair on the second floor, turned a few pages of the book, people came in waves, there are still many people love to read paper books, very good.
