Not to be missed in Everglades National Park
It is best to start early in the morning, and the one-day tour route is as follows: An hour's drive from Miami, the Everglades National Park is a spot that is easily overlooked by the country, and is not as famous as Orlando's amusement parks and Miami's beaches, and few tour groups will come.
But in fact, it is the largest subtropical wetland reserve in the United States, covering about 1.5 million acres, has been listed as a natural Heritage site by UNESCO on the World Heritage List and an international biosphere reserve, and has been selected by the travel guide as the top of the world's 500 endangered sites.
The most popular ride in Everglades National Park is the hovercraft, and the most famous is to see the crocodiles. Go to the Everglades Game park first
30-40 minute hovercraft ride, wild crocodile nature show, jungle trail, observation deck and exhibition. Tickets are $25 / person, coupons can be printed and presented at the time of ticket purchase.
The middle of the boat accelerated very fast, and the big brother of the boat began to drift. It feels very good, like flying on water. The alligator will stop to show everyone, the whole journey is about 40 minutes, can be bought on groupon, may be a few dollars cheaper than on-site. The site will also let you pet the baby crocodile and tell you about crocodile related knowledge.
There are four airboats in the Park, three on Tamiami Trail (Coopertown, Everglades Safari Park, Gator Park) and one Airboat USA outside the park. There are three airboat addresses on the map, all of which are similar. We went to coppertown. Please note that the airboat ticket will charge you a few dollars for the national park entrance fee, but the staff took away the ticket when they boarded the ship!
When we got to the entrance of the national park, because there was no receipt, there was no way to deduct the 16 dollars, and I still spent 30 dollars to enter the park. The National park staff said that this family is always like this, they have received such feedback many times, it seems to be a repeat offender. If you go to this house please take the receipt and don't let them take it.
After that, drive about half an hour to the Ernest Coe Visitor Center (address: 40001State Hwy 9336, Homestead, FL 33034), enter the INFORMATION box and ask the staff to get the Chinese map. There are many activities in the park to choose from, hiking, canoe trail exploration, as well as a variety of Tours, campsites. The Toll Gate is four miles north from the visitor center. Tickets are $20 per car and are valid for a week with unlimited access.
Drive to the Shark Valley Visitor Center. If you come late, you need to get in and queue up. We arrived at 1:30 and queued up for about 20 minutes. You can bike in the wetlands here, $25/ person needs to be back by 5 or there will be a late fee. The journey takes about 2.5 hours and 15 miles.
Please be careful! It is best to choose a cloudy to overcast weather, or a little shade will not be exposed to the sun. You can also choose to take the tour bus $30/ person directly to the observation tower. The endless meadow is golden in the sun, and the big clouds are close to the horizon. I understand that Van Gogh's paintings are really too beautiful. To big cypress national preserve, there is a scenic drive that can be seen by car without getting off the bus. (Yes, I am tired of riding a broken bike for 24km.) The drive is about 40 minutes (loop).
After returning the car, there are two gift shops next to it, please check the official National park! The postcards are beautifully printed and of good quality. The gift shop closes at 5:00, too.
The Gumbo Limbo Trail on the right mainly introduces the tropical hardwood forest, and those who are interested in plants can take a slow walk and have a look, there are many introduction boards. It wasn't a roundabout. We didn't go all the way, and it took us about 20 minutes to retrace our steps.
You can choose to stay in Homestead, there are many farms and B&bs, much cheaper than living in Miami, the key is that the breakfast served here is their own farm export, fresh and healthy, a variety of. Then it's time to wrap up a full day!
