If anyone out there knows how to fix this bug, please let me know. But removing application/pdf from plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types solved my problem. Sometimes it doesn't work and kicks you out of IE. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3.

Re: Open PDF in browser causes blank error box (Windows 7) dan_alexander Nov 23, 2010 10:18 AM (in response to GregHwin) This fix has not worked for everyone. After a reboot and installation of Firefox 34.0.5 PDF forms started behaving correctly. And guys in Adobe, please fix it somehow. Could this be why?

The pdf files just open to blank pages, even if I change the preference. You can view that on the Add-ons page. I tried opening it four times in a row, and it worked 3/4 times. I really didn't think anything would work at this point, but after restarting Firefox, it opened the PDF with noooo problem. Thank god.

Once I close down IE8 I receive a message box: "Message from the Webpage Server Error: Class: WDJ_Acroform Method: Error Message: Could not send message!: The form I am trying to I closed/reopend and the website still not opening PDF. For Windows 7, you normally would have the Reader XI series (Reader 11), which has had several updates. The reset value is empty, and there is no "un-reset", as I learned to my dismay.

P.S.: If I change the embed src - Element to an absolute URL anything works fine! Under Adobe Systems, I had both Adobe Reader and Adobe PDF enabled. Firefox won't open a PDF link in the browser, when I click on the link the screen just goes to a blank blue screen. I have Windows 7 and mine was set to Windows XP.

Chosen solution Please see the Knowledge Base article that details this fix: This issue is caused by the latest version of the Adobe Reader. Try updating your graphics driver to version 257.21 or newer. Re: Open PDF in browser causes blank error box (Windows 7) leftunknown_2 Jan 11, 2011 8:04 AM (in response to JohnDubya) Did anyone find a solution to this? Sometimes, the settings file which stores those download handler preferences becomes corrupted and there's not much else to do than to rename or remove that file and let Firefox rebuild it.

I don't care how I view the file, but I need to either be able to view it as a preview or I need to be able to download it. Unchecking that option really helped. Normally selecting "Use Adobe Acrobat (In Firefox)" works and that is what is set on other computers. Please ask a new question if you need help.

when a solution is found. I closed/reopend and the website still not opening PDF. The PDFs display but cannot be modified. it's a FFox issue that i wish someone from FFox would answer!

Re: Open PDF in browser causes blank error box (Windows 7) MichaelKazlow Feb 1, 2010 6:27 PM (in response to JohnDubya) John,First things first, if you have installed both Reader and Hello ideato, I tried this solution, and it did not work.

I tried resetting the default to both "Adobe Acrobat" and "Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)". This tool uses JavaScript and much of it will not work correctly without it enabled. In FF Verison 22.0 and Nightly Build 25.01, Windows 64bit this or a similar problem is yet not solved with (default) setting "Preview in Firefox" for Type pdf: The embed Element Currently its working- mostly.

Can anyone help me? In addition, a bar appears across the top with the message "This pdf file may not display properly." So I have had to switch to Internet Explorer to open the files

Note that if plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types includes application/pdf that only the built-in PDF Viewer can be used to display PDF files. I know you have answers in regard to disabling etc but when I upload a pdf to a website and it doesn't view properly in FF, you cant explain that to
