I figured out what was causing the issue with word saving and wanted to follow up. I'm not sure where the misbehavior occurs, but I think it has something to do with the way Word saves files and how SAV interacts with them.Uninstalled now, everything seems fine. Sign in here. As I mentioned I also have the issue at home and my antivirus on my personal machine is Microsoft Security Essentials.

The simple answer would be to disable the autosave feature. When you encounter this problem not only will Word crash, but your original file will disappear from the file folder - bummer! I would really like to have someone offer a permanent fix to this issue, not just a workaround, perhaps a patch with Windows update. Make sure you create folders and store your files in the folders and you won't have random errors about the disk being full when it isn't.
