If you read the manual (page 14) it says: do not delete or rename images from the card with a computer. im just curious if there is something i could do to make this problem either go away entirely or to reduce it from happening as much. And always format your SD card using your camera, never the PC. if you do this it doesnt matter what files your OS may write onto the card (Mac, Windows or whatever) and is good practice imho.

If none of those work then it is most likely a problem with the camera itself, in that case you would probably have to take it to be serviced.
