fatal error inserting p4_clockmod device or resource busy Jewell Ridge, Virginia

J'espère que vous pourrez m'aider ! Strangely, in Edgy I followed the same instructions on this laptop and the speedstep-centrino module worked. pharcydeSeptember 2nd, 2006, 11:05 PMThanks for replies guys. It works when I first boot up switching frequencies fine.

Please load the ACPI Processor module before starting this driver. Note that bits and pieces on cpu frequency-scaling can be found in various forum threads. Looking forward to see how this affects my battery. ^^^ Oh and yea what the guy above me said. The Ubuntu installation is fresh. The performance there is also crisp. Rhawi DantasAugust 26th, 2007, 11:58 PMbump ?

You should modprobe the cpufreq-xxx driver(s) for all governors that you intend to use. And everytime i need to reconfigure to be powersave and then after reboot it becomes performance. The other modules are the actual drivers. Quote: modprobe acpi-cpufreq returns FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/ Device or resource busy No problem, apparently it is not needed.

However, I need powernowd to detect P states on powertop. jbmech006March 15th, 2007, 08:12 AMI am having the same problem with the clock speed being stuck at 1Ghz. They do not say how such a thing happened - doesn't really sound like a user choice at all.I am in error here since I already do have a cpu driver What sense of "hack" is involved in five hacks for using coffee filters?

fidolipApril 4th, 2007, 06:10 PMHi! Je tiens vraiment à utiliser p4-clockmod car mon cpu tourne à 300Mhz avec ce driver. Incidentally, because I have two CPUs, I have a line for each in my /etc/sysfs.conf. I have followed the instructions given here:http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,84821.0.htmlwhich worked for the user the advice was intended for. This my initial read out from cpufreq-info:Code: [Select]cpufreq-info

But when i already configured everything its powersave.

Comment 5 Dave Jones 2005-09-23 20:25:07 EDT the fact that its compiled in should be irrelevant. Basically my CPU scaling was unsupported after I rebooted and was locked at 1.83ghz (I have an Intel Core Duo processor). asked 10 months ago viewed 1478 times active 10 months ago Related 19Find out which modules are associated with a usb device?0What is the equivalent of update-modules in CentOS 6.4?1Loading module Member Posts: 397 Re: this user finding it hard to establish acpi-cpufreq as permanent driver « Reply #2 on: December 28, 2011, 06:39:34 PM » A first thing to notice, is

I am running a Parsix distro (Knoppix based), and knew that CPU scaling should work, as it worked by default in Ubuntu. These two work for me with the methods I've outlined here in Breezy 32bit and 6.06 64bit installs. Has anyone got the Sempron 2600+ to work? Thanks.

pixelboyDecember 24th, 2006, 04:57 AMHey guys.. I get the following messages when trying to get speedstep-centrino or acpi-cpufreq etc. Didn't reinstall Kubuntu Feisty, just swapped motherboards and booted up. (Windows had a hissy fit, but that's why I rarely use it) But none of the power management functions were working. You can also add other configuration options that are specific to the governor selected.

I know, it's necessary because without this entries the powersaved doesn't work during system startup (edgy) but it works when restarting it manualy... as per Gateways site claims acpi 1.1 support and apm support.

A quoi sert ce fichier ? If that is the case check your BIOS manual for more info. Nabor linuxguiriNovember 22nd, 2006, 06:51 AMJust as an FYI, in Edgy Eft ondemand will be automatically loaded in favor of powernowd by the powernowd startup script, if your CPU can use Has this been a common issue for anyone else? I've double checked it all but the boot message still says both cpu's are set to ondemand. Mon ordi surchauffe moins avec ce module qu'avec acpi-cpufreq.

So I bit the bullet and did the upgrade ... None of the kernel module modprobe commands are able to find anything. Step 3: activate frequency-scaling governor This is done by writing the selected governor into the scaling_governor file, e.g. It worked well until my Oracle Linux (based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6) was restarted.

In my case, the contents of /proc/cpuinfo is the following: [email protected]:/lib/modules/2.6.15-26-386/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq$ cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : GenuineIntel cpu family : 6 model : 13 model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) Inspection of frequency-scaling state files and fine-tuning These files are in directory /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ (this directory is set up by the cpu frequency-scaling driver) In this directory, you can inspect at any On demand but with max freq limited to 1gig. cb474August 12th, 2007, 07:03 AMThis guide says to use the speedstep-centrino module with Core Duo processors, but it doesn't work for me on my ThinkPad T60.

And this is was it said at the end of the details * Starting powernowd... /etc/init.d/powernowd: 156: cannot create /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor: Directory nonexistent * CPU frequency scaling not supported ...done.
