What is the most expensive item I could buy with £50? YMMV. It had been kicked from the system table. (by creating a contrib user.module for another purpose myself) I copied the user.module line back into the system table. For me the function was indeed not defined. cog.rusty commented May 25, 2010 at 8:27pm First, make sure that you don't have any duplicate modules or backups anywhere under drupal. One slightly more general solution to fix this is to use a query like: update system set filename = replace(filename, 'sites/all/modules/drupal-6.10/', ''); Which will do the update by replacing the string was strange.

Created a 'modules' directory inside of the site's multi-site directory and copied the user module out of core and put it there.
