event id 11 disk controller error Buena Vista, Virginia

I have HP RAID management software but it didn't really help either since I have so many other hard drives (USB, iSCSI) that are not on the internal RAID. PORK YO NI IDEA !!!!!!  MUCHAS GRACIAS. 0 Pimiento OP rm9 Jul 8, 2014 at 11:40 UTC 1st Post God damn it I am fed up with this! Could this be an issue with the enclosures and not the drives maybe a problem with the port multiplier and that is why it is only 3 out of the four It occurs immediately in the system log, along with several informational messages about the virtual disk service stopping (or starting).

Back to ubuntu until I can save for a new MB/RAM/CPU, my current MB is 6 years old so I think I am due anyways. Some access operations are taking place at this moment. 0 Message Author Comment by:Jsmply2010-07-01 Hi Noxcho, VSS snapshots are taken via Norton Ghost for backups which are stored on this i was re instaling windows, still shown. Following a link off of the link Fishsauce provided (below), it does seem to validate that the disk in question is "Disk 2" that in Disk Management shows is an external

Anyone have any input on how to fairly divide the points? Unfortunately it came back about a month later, but same process repaired it again. I was under the impression that "DR" stands for "disk removable", but I honestly wasn't able to find any references to that so I could be wrong. The rest of the time, we just get this error by itself.

It's always around 9 or 10 AM and that's when the error is occurring. 0 LVL 46 Overall: Level 46 Storage Hardware 30 Windows 7 16 Hardware 11 Message Nothing in the application log. 0 LVL 46 Overall: Level 46 Storage Hardware 30 Windows 7 16 Hardware 11 Message Active today Expert Comment by:noxcho2010-07-01 Does it remove the drive After restarting the machine a few times, I thought to check the event log. The intermittent hangs/freezes of 10-60 seconds were driving me nuts over the last month.

These are just unique random numbers. I don't know if the issue is the HDD's, I surely hope not because that means we our out all of that data. Now that I feel it is fully resolved, I thought I’d share my conclusion (and the process) – hopefully it will help few others out there who are struggling with this. It either happens when safely removing (but here is the kicker, not ALWAYS).

I'd say Seagate owes you some form of thanks. They are all fairly new and so is the system. I would doubt mobo replacement too. The old IDE cables are superior to this new stuff.

Does the error occur after drive removal or at the time when swapping is going on? 0 Message Author Comment by:Jsmply2010-07-01 Difficult to tell exactly as we have a volunteer I had updated the bios on my motherboard to no avail. As for points, it is up to your decision how to assign them. I assume that the DR number is somehow linked to drive signatures.

Any clue?So I'm left with the regular Windows method of enabling/disabling the sleep mode (for the record it's here: Control Panel / Device Manager / Universal Serial Bus controllers / Generic It's not a warning like the paging error in XP, this is an actual error. Tech support said if the issue is fixed, to freshly format the drives to make sure there was no damage left behind. Expand storage on the left and select disk management. That would make sense. To view where a particular hard disk is located in your system, use the following procedure: Start Disk Management console (diskmgmt.msc).

As for BESR, I am out of idea what service of BESR could browse this drive, better to open a thread with Symantec. 0 Message Author Comment by:Jsmply2010-07-02 Thanks. After lots of drive and cable swapping I have discovered it happens because I have the drive caddy plugged into a Noontec USB3 hub.

Check Disk finds nothing wrong on my external USB Buffalo drivestation... When Windows loaded and this Event ID appeared, Windows took a long time to start up (even when the swap file was moved to the C: drive). We looked at the Microsoft support article before making the EE post. There are many motherboards starting at just $50 and in most cases it will improve overall performance and stability for you, even if you keep the same CPU and other components.

I still think that Windows is trying to access the drive and by removing it you interrupt these attempts. Thinking about it I would not expect indexing to run inside the kernel, although virtual memory management certainly would.
