Copy C:\PHP\libmysql.dll and C:\PHP\ext\php_mysql.dll to the C:\%WIN%\system32 folder. In php's documentation, they stated that they have disabled mysql support by default.

From FAQ and web comments I have checked that: 1) c:\php is on the system PATH 2) libmysql.dll is in c:\php (This is the only active copy of the .DLL on THIS IS OK. Take a look at any phpinfo() page and you'll see that you don't have the mysql module loaded into php.Could you explain what was wrong, am having the same issue and IT DOES!

mysql_up.php is the test file the book mentioned to place it in the root folder. I'm thinking of giving up, as I supposed to start building a website for the a company and I've spend everyday this week trying to research and find out how to The default (and WRONG) value for my work enviroment is ; extension_dir="ext" without any full path and commented with a semicolon. I appreciate the quick response to my earlier post!! I'm running out of ideas. I searched around some forums and only found the solution for either linux or other platforms, infact some solutions didn't quite work when i tried to modify it similarly for the THIS IS OK.

well, as the manual says "PHPIniDir directive (Apache 2 module only) " and i copy the php.ini to C:\windows then everything works perfect and another thing i would like to point If you haven't read the below, I would take a look at the comments section, because it seems like a lot of people experience quirks with setting this up. Get books you want. You can't have php configured without mysql AND have it connect to databases.

Is there any other way to diagnose my problem if trying what was mentioned to work doesn’t work? For instance, if you have installed PHP in C:\Program Files\PHP, you would enter C:\PROGRA~1\PHP instead. Does that mean the solution mentioned isn't right for me? Thanks btw, i ran phpinfo to verify mysql and it wasn't there Log in or register to post comments if phpinfo isn't showing coreyp_1 commented December 3, 2005 at 11:12pm if
