I've been bit removing things before, and have learned to rename instead of delete. Then I landed on this page, did a search on C: for pdfmaker.xla, found 2 copies, and deleted both. Show 51 replies 1. Hope this helps!

If it stops working, uninstall all Adobe Reader and Acrobat products and reinstall what you need. (Of course, make sure you have all the disks and serial numbers you need to it worked and removed the error. Covered by US Patent. Please help.. - Forum Can't find your answer ?

It not only found the module location itself - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART - but found several shortcuts to it in various places. This may impact how PDFs are displayed...

It finally worked,I am not going to pull my hair out now..... I did the search for both types of files (*.xla and *.dot) and the return shows the files, BUT someone had already renamed the files (pdfmaker.xla to pdfmaker.old.xla and pdfmaker.dot to THANKS! DISTMON) when launching XL.
