A few hard smaks on lens and 3 sides and hey presto, it started working again. Hello camera repair, I was interested in buying an canon sd1000 or something like it, but after reading all of these problems I am reluctant. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. I have a Canon Powershot A560, whose lens wouldn't even BEGIN to open, and it reported "Lens error, restart camera".

When I hit the power button, I noticed that the telescoping lens tried to adjust itself but got crooked. Just got home yesterday and i tried tip #7 today. Thank You for this lovely site! You can change this preference below.
