THANK YOU! -Bob Reply Jos says: September 2, 2015 at 11:33 am Works fine, even wit W2K12R2. Something to keep in mind. Incapsula incident ID: 259000440182511707-435316710950765256 Request unsuccessful. Just for a bunch of test servers, saves the hassle of upgrading ESXi for now..

Before applying the fix, I got a blue screen almost instandly after setup started. Thanq.. Reply fdsfdsf says: December 18, 2015 at 8:04 am Many thanks for this trick !! Installed Windows Server 2012 R2 on VMWare 4.1.

Thanks alot Reply Ed says: October 30, 2015 at 5:21 pm You are the MAN! This install program do not have network adapter of BL460G7 driver. Reply Scott Clark says: August 5, 2015 at 2:06 pm Worked great for me - thanks for posting!

For now, our SAN (Datacore V8) is limiting us to upgrade vsphere right now. Works also for 2012 R2. Worked exactly as described with Server 2012 R2. Edit .vmx file and add variables I think attach my ISO and boot.

After applying the fix I ran into a CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION bluescreen after a couple of minutes (during the setup wizard or even while copying the files). Reply SchlaWiener says: July 21, 2014 at 1:04 pm For ESX 4.1 and Server 2012 R2 Build 9600 this did not work. Next year, we will migrate to new server hardware, and new vsphere 6.0. Reply Ranjan David says: July 29, 2013 at 7:14 pm worked fine..

Great! Perfect! Greatly appreciated. Has anyone got it working for this particular version.

Works perfect! This helped more than you know. Thanks!!! Reply Jordi says: October 25, 2013 at 11:57 am worked fine..

Reply carlos says: November 28, 2014 at 5:14 pm Thanks! And then found that ESXi 4.1 doesn't support it.  Try it and you'll get the Server 2012 sad face appearing.  I don't have time just now to update to ESX5.X on Or will there be no problems when upgrading VMWare tools? Reply Jan De Smet says: August 17, 2015 at 12:13 pm Hi, This works for me on esxi 4.1.

Reply Jeferson says: February 3, 2015 at 7:00 pm Work for me, thank's Reply Marc says: February 9, 2015 at 8:50 am Good job! Reply Fred Bas says: March 18, 2016 at 3:50 pm Very good. Server 2012R STD installed perfect. Reply Paul Moreton says: January 15, 2015 at 2:41 pm I'm running ESXi 4.1.0 - 348481.

Reply Mitja says: March 13, 2015 at 11:25 am Great! As “Guest Operating System” use Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit)” After VM has been created but before first power on, download the following  bios file and upload it to your ESXi Thank you for taking the time to post this help. I found these set of instructions ( really don't do this for a production environment ) Create a  new VM over the vSphere Client. Don't forget to mention you should use notepad++ to edit the vmx file. Reply Paddy says: November 24, 2014 at 12:48 pm Thank you So much worked like magic. I run through the steps outlined above… 1. One of my coworker pointed out that a datastore migration may not move the bios file with the other files.
