file share error 0x80004005 Maggie Valley, North Carolina

If you're now able to access that folder from the other computer, you may need to change your sharing permissions. –Vinayak Sep 16 at 18:00 | show 3 more comments up Neither IP nor host name can be avaiable. reply Actually, for all it helpe, I Permalink Submitted by DTMOC (not verified) on Fri, 02/20/2015 - 16:52 Actually, for all it helpe, I just used the string "RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation, webclient" without the open a dos command prompt 2.

Do this for every folder you want to share. Am using a work group setup.Another laptop and two desktops have no issues. Your cache administrator is webmaster. the solution was to add back clients for microsoft network which for some reason was not there in the wireless adapter properties.

If this does help, I also forgot to mention above that if I open windows explorer and go the network tab on the left. It turns out that my network adapter somehow loosed component called "Client for Microsoft Networks", not sure how that happened, I certainly did not removed it manually. I have tried lots of what Google has had to say but no luck ,any help would be appreciated.  EDIT - I FOUND A FIX Ok, so I figured out the Is it possible to have a planet unsuitable for agriculture?

Even though the adapter is disabled, it appears that any changes that you make to the settings on your "normal" wireless adapter also need made on this one. I’m fascinated by ninjas, the Internet, and anybody who can balance objects on their nose for long periods of time. Thanks. Really.......

Apparently when I disabled my Hyper-V network it removed this setting. In my case the culprit was 'Akamai network whatever' which came with AutoCAD 360. Following the suggestion from 'axlns' post 'Client for Microsoft Networks' was not installed on the desktop system network adapter. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/c9f17816-9ef3-4249-98e6-5de990112d3d/windows-cannot-access-machinesharedfolder-error-code-0x80004005?forum=w7itpronetworking

Now w8 can access w7's shared folders, but w7 cannot access w8's shared folders. Changing it to work network did not seem to make a difference. Not a member? I had a similar issue connecting to a specific network share after the Windows 10 Bugiversary Update last week. Anyway, I have installed it back, rebooted, andvoila, everything started working again! type net use \\server-name /user:username (username is a valid user account on the server) 3. in windows explorer - open the share \\servername\Public (or any other share) and see if that works.   If you use the IP address instead of the server-name at the command This is likely what happened. In the Control Panel >>Network and Sharing Center >> Change Advanced Sharing Settings, somehow the File & printer sharing setting had been turned OFF. All accounts must be on same workgroup 3.

Anyway, I have installed it back, rebooted, and voila, everything started working again! I have a feeling its something wrong with this laptop, (due to it being joined to a domain). Make space between rows constant How do computers remember where they store things? Maybe W8 has switched to ipv6? –agtoever Aug 4 '14 at 21:14 @agtoever the address of w8 is 192.168.2.29, subnet 255.255.255.0; the address of w7 is 192.168.2.1, same subnet.
