The MBR is a great place for viruses to hide! Plus, neither one has anything to do with the win explorer. Also, search your hard drive for files ending in .dmp and .mdmp (around the time of the crash) and let us know if you find any. Since this is becoming more wide spread, I am convinced some M$ upgrade is the cause of this, though M$ won't admit to it.
