Turned on the pc this morning and the same old ‘print spooler' problem surfaced - no printers showing and could not add a printer. After that I repeatedly got ‘Spooler subsystem app has encountered a problem ….". no disrespect intended to Arthur Li as no doubt his way will work on other systems but mine is an acer aspire with windows 7 ultimate & it wouldn't give whereas The print spooler was corrupt and caused the printer to continually turn on and off with an error7 9 msg.

When the spooler service is set to automatic, the spooler stops when I open Devices and Printers and doesn't restart. This tool has saved me.
