I have searched the forums but am a bit lost about some of the suggestions. The computer is an Intel Pentium 4 about 8 years old. It IS TRUE that if the hard drive is installed into an external USB carrier and a working windows hard drive is used to access it, files can be recovered. I tried changing every BIOS setting I could, no success.
