I have thoroughly gone thru this book on several additional ocassions and I cannot find any reference to this "F - - -" issue.Does anyone have any guidance for me on Reply 11.2) Mike May 19, 2014 at 9:21 pmThat's the exact same solution that cleared-out the blinking ‘err' message on my D600. It IS an alignment problem with the 18-135mm lens - a design fault, if you will.

It cost me about 100 euros :( Reply 23) jalal December 15, 2012 at 2:11 amHi all i got a problem with my nikon d90 i should trick 2 times on But newer cameras require F22 because the camera controls the depth-of-field. Shoot! This happened on the first shot after I switched lenses.

luckily nikon's aperture ring lock is less flimsy than tokina's, and as robert body wrote, this is not an issue with G type nikkors -- newer designs which have no aperture I'm from indonesia.. This is serious post. I learned that the error only happens when I get pass f1.4 so I suspected that maybe the mechanism to adjust my aperture was stuck.

If it still doesn't work, give Nikon tech support a call. My only choice was to take it back to Nikon service shop, where they changed the communication contacts on the lens and that actually corrected the issue for me. All sound and operation was normal, but the image was just black. The top LCD also displayed ‘ERR' (error). I cleaned contacts as suggested on both the lens and camera but the error is still there. Also, even if I dont attach the lens it still shows the error. Next… BINGO!!
