Also, you shouldn't open the camera to clean the sand if you don't feel confident in doing so. None of these methods involve opening the camera, although some have potential to cause other damage to the camera if excessively done. I thought it must have gotten wet inside the lens and didn't know what to do. I think Fuji need to redesign their zoom mechanism.

Not sure how to do that.
