Thanks SO MUCH for solving this problem for me. Didn't get rid of the message. This would seem the most likely way it came into the PC. I double clicked on the ErrorMode to make changes but the ‘x' will not print.

In my case, this "error" was from a Roxio product that installed their "media manager" also. Some software process (which I wasn't able to track down, myself) has clearly been initiated at startup which was trying to access or at least check all the disk drives attached Drive in use.)So, being me, I just yanked them out anyway, my computer sort of scrambled, and I had a hard time just shutting it down.
