I've been through some troubleshooting already - recycle ECP app pool, restart IIS, reboot CAS server, re-register ASP on the app pool, rebuild the virtual directories, remove canary data in ADSIEdit... We also fixed a corrupted web.config file in the ECP directory of a different CAS server: one that shouldn't have been servicing user requests. Is it possible it is a few layers down under CN=RPCservices or CN=Default Domain Policy or something else such as OU=OURDOMAINNAME? Starting the service immediately fixes the issue.
