Cause Of The Error 500 in Exchange 2013 The main reason behind the log in failure of OWA and ECP is the mismatch of canary tokens between the client and server HTTP 500 error accessing OWA legacy URL The solution is to enable forms-based authentication on the Exchange 2003 front-end server.  This is located in the Properties of the Exchange Virtual Server. Sorted out my issue.
