excel 2007 vlookup value not available error Dimondale, Michigan

I also tried using the Match function but this resulted in the same issue, both when looking for an approximate or exact value. Possibly due to formatting or another issue. Tried using the Match function which likewise returns the #N/A errorReply Analyst says: December 29, 2015 at 4:10 pmHi PaulIf you have a file with dummy / anonymised data, then yes, I am using the same excel versions as I have been and I can't think what's changed.

I've created a table which has a couple hundred items which is referenced to by a vlookup. http://www.computergaga.com/tips/lookup_formulas/case_sensitive_lookup.html I have not tested this, but think it should work. I really don't know what to refer to since in the first table, the first column contains the agent, then the annual commission, then the year with the company.

For example… A B C D E F G H 1 Row Labels Count of TSPM ABQ ALB ATL1 ATL2 AUS 2 ABQ/lcano 3 3 2 14 16 26 3 ALB/lhayes However, with the 5th VLOOKUP I get a Value of #N/A instead of the GPA, which I get returned for the other 4. I've made sure all the text fields are exactly the same, both by testing and re-entering. It's important to understand that, when you're doing an approximate match, VLOOKUP searches the column by jumping down and up it rather than just starting at the top and working down.

I’ve never seemed to have issues with vlookup in last 10 years until we upgraded to excel 2010.Problem is…DLYLOG is sheet that other sheets within the workbook retrieve data from. I checked to make sure there was a match and there was and no duplicates were found. Unless it is Friday, and a major ‘user error' that I can seem to see. :( Thanks in advance for the help/advice! Then amend your formula to: =VLOOKUP(B5,Allexpenses,MATCH($P$4,AllexpensesHeaders,0),FALSE) LikeLike Reply Niki says: January 3, 2014 at 7:22 PM Hi Colin, Sorry for taking a while to get back to you.

The vlookup won't work at all if she updates from her excel. Can I send you a copy of an extract of the file to you? Perfect! Because this is entered as an index number, it is not very durable.

Obviously due to this G returns an N/A result. Is there a work around for this or does strings in a cell created by a MID function always to this.PS. The fourth argument is omitted which means that your VLOOKUP() formula is performing an approximate match. He is an experienced Excel user and has set up the VLOOKUP Function correctly. Why the #N/A error messages? As I suspected, the "table Array" - which is the information that was downloaded Text functions such as SUBSTITUTE and TRIM are great for this sort of tasks.

In some of the cells I get the expected results but in others I just get a 0, not N/A or #Value#. I am still curious why it appears to work for all the other formulas without adding this, but not for Team Leader. Reply Alan Murray says: June 13, 2016 at 6:54 am It should work with dates no problem. I've checked the formatting too, they seem fine, i don't know what's wrong with the data.Reply Analyst says: August 10, 2016 at 7:12 pmHiIf you subscribed to follow up comments (next

But for the life of me I cannot work out why.The same problem also affects the IF function as well. The FALSE at the end of the formula tells VLOOKUP() to only return projected points when it finds an exact match for the player. The table arrays were imported into Excel using the Table Capture extension in Google Chrome. and C, D are the array index.

This would make a difference. Solution 1 One solution might be to protect the worksheet so that users cannot insert columns. You have A- listed twice in B22 and B23 2. Now my question is, i want to match both excel sheets by using vlookup.

An array formula references a range that doesn’t have the same number of rows or columns as the range that contains the array formula To fix this, make sure that the Worked beautifully with the rounding formula. We update this data daily so this is a pain. why?Reply Analyst says: September 25, 2016 at 10:25 pmSend me a copy of the file you used from the email address that you get this response from.Reply Johann Heymann says: September

I am using Excel 2010. Life moves pretty fast. In Column J I have countries. Armed with this information you should enjoy a less troublesome future with this awesome Excel function.

The range $F$3:$G$23 includes twenty different numbers in column F (sorted in ascending order) and twenty different dates in column G also ascending). Changing the letter I to J in this case will make the formula work.8)    vlookup not working for some cells/vlookup not working sometimes–      if this happens, it is usually because your spaces. The target looks like B110015BS***GG but pulls from B110015BSR**GG. any other alter. Nope. Nothing more.

VLOOKUP is case-insensitive The VLOOKUP function does not distinguish case and teats lowercase and UPPERCASE characters as identical. Please let me know if you can think of anything I might be able to use. Thanks UrsReply Analyst says: May 2, 2015 at 12:28 pmHi UrsNo worries.Re your original problem, can I'd need to see a file understand your question.Reply Urs says: April 30, 2015 at 4:10 pmHi, the errors you gave are great and I have kept these for future ref.
