When burning a disc after a reboot the first DVD normally burns fine but the next time I try to burn a disc I get the error. Anyway the fix worked wonders. A working solution then could be to use another media or lower speed, as you did. Most Power Calibration errors are a result of media/burner compatibility issues. K3b sees the drive and correctly shows all the media supported. A lot of readers suspect that some hal > or automounter component is squatting ressources.
