Unfortunately, in some other environments, an end user will see any kind of error message and think the sky is falling without ever actually trying to understand what it means. This error generally occurs when Outlook is trying to sync forms with public folder. From the link above from Busbar it looks like this will be fixed in RU5 for 2010 so I'm guessing it will also be in SP1 which is good news. This is a necessary tool that typically everyone knows about. Since you aren't actually seeing problems with items being deleted, the best thing to do is to instruct your users to periodically clear out their sync issues folders.
