Important note: When you edit this page, you agree to release your contribution into the public domain. My understanding, though, is that X11 is only required for the animation/display parts of ImageMagick, and not required for the basic image identification and processing functions. Ah well :) Homebrew member MikeMcQuaid commented Sep 14, 2010 No, this really isn't your fault. XQuartz isn't added to the default library paths so if something is linked against a Homebrew libpng then it doesn't work against the XQuartz libpng. convert.im6: unable to open image `/tmp/magick-ug2OanDq': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/2638. convert.im6: no images defined `PNG:/home/www/igrid/images/thumb/archive/4/47/20061107211712!IP-scheme-OM.svg/120px-IP-scheme-OM.svg.png' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3044. 1,052×800 (75 KB)Hopet (Talk | contribs) 09:59, 5 November 2006Error creating thumbnail: convert.im6: delegate failed `"rsvg-convert" -o "%o" "%i"' @ error/delegate.c/InvokeDelegate/1065.

See Project:PD help/Copying for instructions. ggilder commented Sep 14, 2010 Okay, so here's the weird thing then. Thank you! This means it is not symlinked into Homebrew's prefix.

Running brew install -v imagemagick --build-from-source showed me that it was lzma.h that was causing the issues. convert.im6: unable to open image `/tmp/magick-YC5ucMzp': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/2641. dfischer commented Aug 21, 2012 libpng is installed but it still doesn't compile with png support. adamv commented Sep 10, 2010 Can you post that image somewhere I can download? ggilder commented Sep 10, 2010 Got it from the video-js project: http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.png Homebrew member MikeMcQuaid commented Sep 10, 2010 At a guess, do you have X11 installed? convert.im6: no images defined `PNG:/tmp/transform_1e10b69b6f2a-1.png' @ error/convert.c/ConvertImageCommand/3044. The CLT provides X11 on Lion so don't request users install XQuartz if it isn't needed on Mountain Lion.

That method just checks for the presence of one file, '/usr/X11/include/ft2build.h'. Any suggestions? What can I do to help? :) jacknagel commented Aug 21, 2012 ping @mikemcquaid Sharpie commented Aug 21, 2012 Could be a bottle issue. On my machine, that file did exist, even though I apparently didn't have X11's libpng installed.

I'm on 10.8 and have XQuartz installed. As far as XQuartz with bottles, it is problematic.

disbelief commented Aug 23, 2012 That seems to have done the trick! That's lame. #2415 jacknagel commented Aug 21, 2012 It shouldn't. Weird. Error creating thumbnail: convert.im6: delegate failed `"rsvg-convert" -o "%o" "%i"' @ error/delegate.c/InvokeDelegate/1065.

convert.im6: unable to open image `/tmp/magick-3D7bT56D': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/2638. dfischer commented Aug 20, 2012 I guess it depends upon XQuartz being installed. I eventually reinstalled MacPorts just to install ImageMagick, and it installed X11 as a dependency. convert.im6: unable to open file `/tmp/magick-C6LEX5f4': No such file or directory @ error/constitute.c/ReadImage/583.

Also wondering if this demonstrates that the optionally depend on XQuartz experiment doesn't really work as it isn't in the default library path lookup so won't work for bottles like this. Thanks @sharpie Homebrew member MikeMcQuaid commented Aug 21, 2012 Ok, this breaks if libpng is unlinked on 10.8 without XQuartz.
