The reason I think it might be a hardware issue is that the error always pops up 3 minutes after I start burning, regardless of the DVD Brand. About Us PC Review is a computing review website with helpful tech support forums staffed by PC experts. I'm writing CD-R since more than 6 years now. I've already burnt 4,4 GB in 23 minutes to a DVD+R disc rated 2,4x.

Something tells me that the drive was shipped with immature firmware and that better firmware would solve many of these issues. I checked your recorder model and the firmware you are using is the latest version, so nothing to update there. You could also try using a lower write speed if available. Please post I went back and did a system restore to a point last week where I knew it worked, but that didn't fix it either. Thanks. To add a little more mystery and frustration to the problem, I have just managed to burn a DVD (TDK), with no issues and with successful verification.

let me know how you do! I bought the burner back to the place of purchase, they tested it and said there was nothing wrong with it. Or do I have to contact LG to do it? It seems this drive is really not able to burn at a higher speed than 2x.

I've burned 25 or so at 4x out of the same spindle. Bye. lol vBulletin v3.8.9, Copyright ©2000-2016, vBulletin Solutions, Inc. I know DVD+/-RW can also be used for system backup, but if you think about it, you will see, that DVD-RAM is much better for that purpose, even if the writing

But who knows... Discussion in 'Nero discussion' started by tommich, Aug 13, 2006. It is possible that my LG is broken, but as I can see there are recently a lot of people looking for help with there LG drives. I thought perhaps it was one of those two proggies causing the issue so I uninstalled-reinstalled DVDShrink and had the same problem.

I'm not doing anything different than I usually do, I can't think of anything that would cause the error. No I received some PrimeDisc DVD-R 4x (Ritek G04). Try a lens cleaner on the drive.

Now Nero would allow me to burn at 4x speed. That's the only way I can see what's happening. myckee CD-RW Thug Posts: 84Joined: Sat Aug 23, 2003 11:00 pmLocation: CANADA Top by gyula on Sun Sep 07, 2003 6:37 pm I did some further testing with running a Genuine FujiFilm 4x DVD-Rs have code TYG01, I think, whereas my disks have code TAIYOYUDEN, which are known to be only 2x disks.

What software/ firmware you using? Thanks for the tip on the serial number. What method/kit do you recommend? If it is a Hardware issue, is it probably something simple like cleaning the drive, or is this error symptomatic of a more serious problem?
